IF the driver was pushed and there are conflicting reports about what he did on his rest.

Since when do companies have the right to withhold pay to the driver because the customer didn't pay the company for the load? The driver did his part, it's not his problem if Crete gets stiffed. I got to believe that your experience in this industry is sorely lacking. ETA Never mind. I see that you have never driven a truck before. And you think you have the right to criticize others? Pretty bold talk from someone who doesn't even have the right to call himself a newbie. Must be a kid.

And what's up with attacking the OP over his grammar? Seems pretty cruel to me.

if i was givin a load i knew i didn;'t have the hrs to run it, and thus in turn told my dispatcher, and he or she threatened me with my job, i would be on the phone in a milli second to head of Safety, telll ing them. It's is that dept. to ensure that your run complaiant.
They should of walked over to the dispatcher and told them under no uncertain terms are you to threatin a driver with his job, if they don't have the hrs.

Over where i work , i was in that boat,, in short, the dispatcher is no longer dispatching.

You run your log book, not the dispatcher

We actually dont know for a fact that the company withheld his pay, now do we? Of course, it could be the fact that he may not have given the company his paperwork too. If you will think about it, why would Crete keep the driver's pay unless there was some issue.
You have no idea what my experience in this industry is nor do I know what yours truly is. You don't know if I have ever driven a truck or not. The fact that I am going back to school doesnt mean I have never driven. Have you ever heard of a refresher course? Did it ever occur to you that I may have more driving miles than many people posting on here and had to leave a job due to family issues? I am not a new to the industry, you have no idea what my jobs in the trucking industry have been. You also, have no idea what my experience driving a truck is. As for your reference to me being a "kid" I am not a "kid" nor am I a child. I am an adult and I have every right to post on here as long as I follow the rules of the forum.
Concerning my "cruelty" over his grammar, you'd better read the rest of the posts because I was not the only person who made comments on his grammar. In fact in one post I alluded to the fact that it might be a ruse to disguise who he was. My issue with that person was the simple fact that none of the things posted could be backed up with fact or proof. I have no idea why you chose me to attack but if it made you feel better, I am sincerely glad for it.

Thank you so much for stating the obvious!!! From the beginning of this issue that's been my stand. If a driver doesnt have the hours or is not able, for whatever reason, to take the load and deliver it safely and on time, he shouldn't take it.
If the driver feels threatened by the dispatcher, then go to whom ever he needs to, to take care of the problem. If a person can take the time to do post after post on here whining and crying about how bad the company is, but can't speak up to the company IF he is asked to do something he knows he shouldnt do, shame on him...
The driver accepts responsibility when he takes the load and starts down the road with it. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't we all supposed to accept responsibility for our actions?
