My husband give me a couple of ids for the load board. I was wondering which was the login and which was the password. He's not sure either. I've got an owner number and an operator number. He also said that the password started with ## does anyone know if this is correct? thanks for the help!!

It will be his operator number the one he uses to fill out his trip sheets. Might begin with an S. I believe the password you set up yourself after logging in the 1st time. They should have given him some paperwork in orientation with step by step directions on how to log in the 1st time.

Just remember that on the weekend the load board usually isn't updated. They will usually go in and "clean" the sytem on Sunday. Also use the load board as a 1 tool of many. Call the agents on this list where he is headed and make his truck available to them with an ETA of when he will be getting empty. Many of the really good loads never even make it to the load board. Agents will either call you and offer those to you when you make your truck available to them or offer them to some one else. BE PROACTIVE!!!!
A way to figure out what a load is paying the truck off the board. Is to take the gross linehaul Example $1600.00....Take that number X .25 ....which is $400 (this is CRST 25%....now take the remainder left over $1200 (this is your 75%).... and add in the fuel surcharge $457 to the $1200 and divide that by the milage.
$1200+$457= $1657 divide that by the number of miles 750 loaded miles and that will give you your Rate per mile to the truck. So that load pays the truck $2.20 per mile per loaded mile.SheepDog and apaschall6 Thank this. -
How good are the CRST-Malone health/dental/vision/life/retirement plans for O/O-Lease purchase drivers?

Have you ever experienced CRST attempting to roll over the fuel surcharge to the base rate? Thus taking 25% of your fuel surcharge also? Else, CRST refuses to allow you (lease) to pull the load unless the broker agrees to ammend the fuel surcharge and tack it on to the base rate?

On the fuel surcharge in some cases your fleet manager or the agent your dealing with can actually break out more fuel surcharge from the linehaul up to .61cpm.
Now they will also only allow you .61cpm on a fuel surcharge from a broker and put the rest into linehaul. That figure (.61cpm) fluctuates with the price of fuel. I don't agree with the cieling on fuel surcharges from brokers, but it is what it is.
Now another thing I have found recently....is that you shouldn't be afraid to ask the agents for extras on loads. I.E. money for tolls or layover if they ask you to wait on a load. For example I got empty in Littlr Rock, Ar. around noon and an agent called and offered me a load out of Memphis the next morning paying real good money, but since I was going to have to wait until the next morning I asked for $200 extra to load the next morning. He agreed and added it into the tarp pay. My philosphy is it doesn't hurt to ask....they worst they can say no.Travelinman Thanks this. -

We just don't haul for those guys. Bruce Burns burned us. Never haul that guy's stuff.
We had Cowan Systems try to screw us every way from Sunday, on a broker load.
We always get fuel and I raise Hell when it's short.
I have other drivers and witnesses who will back me up. -

You have looked at our settlement sheets. I have given links to health and dental.
I have argued with agents about fuel and I only do it once. We lost $40 once and $60 once. It's the only time we hauled for those agents.
Our logistics guy thinks I'm nuts, because I fight for our money and we never haul anything, again, for an agent who shorts us. I do not forget. I figure if we got shorted, so did other drivers and I don't deal with those people.
My "#### list" is short and easy to remember.
