They just do a regular DOT physical.

They single out drivers for sleep apnea according to weight.

Normal DOT physical. If they think you need a sleep study do to your weight or your answers to the questions on the physical, then they only give you a 6 month ,and make you get one on your own time and own dime. The insurance isn't the greatest, but it will help there.

How is a student going to "train" another student?:biggrin_25512: You guys will train seperatly, by two different trainers out for 28 days, probably male trainers might i add. Good luck getting into truck driving. It's a blessed career once you're in.

I was assuming that the fiance was already an experienced driver.

No problem atc. Then you will have no problem having your spouse train you. But, in order for him to be qualified to train you he needs to be with crst at least 90 days i beleive. I know of another couple who did the same thing-wife left office job to drive otr, anyways her husband was an o/op with crst. She had to go through the regular 3 week course for her cdl, then hop on with her husband to train for 28 days. Then came back to the yard, took her final road test, got aprooved, and are now still rolling together. They were actually featuerd on a marketing/employment magazine (front page). If it's not 90 days it might be 30 days for your hubby....kind of hard to remember,it's been about 3 years since i left crst..

When I went through orientation there a couple years ago there was a couple there. She did have her cdl, but no experience. He was going to train her. All he had to do was go to Cedar Rapids and take the training course. Also, I had a co-driver who started with CRST as a trainer. He had 15 years experience. But you know how trucking companies are. The rules can change at any moment.

Just be sure not to qoute that ole country song when you leave. I had been w CRST 8 months. No contract had CDL. Anyway I sit at home for 21 days waiting on a new co driver, Threw first off truck snorting COKE! Anyhow they sent team to get truck me for Drug test(BIG SUPRISR), I passed. So after 21 days I ask when Am I getting new co-driver. All they have sent were smokers I don't smoke so werwe no goes. They say you have 7 days or we will Terminate you. I call JB Hunt get Hired. in like 3 days. My DM calls me on day 27 say's I have a Co-Driver I say. No I don't I sent you a email. She says "You did, I didn't get it what the message. I reply"Take this Job and Shove it!" Now i am a Non rehirable. Although they did call and ask me to come back a few months ago I laughed and repeated my qoute. So now non rehirable for rudness.
