Most any company that trains will allow a driver to train their partner. Not all of them have a CDL school though.

I'd double check that .31 per mile though. Doesn't sound right.

Well yes been driving probley longer than most on this thread! Apparently the recruiter made some great promises as far as home time and some right out blaitant Lies! every company i have ever worked for (except the Army) worked hard to get you home! There are and is no reason that a driver should be out over major holidays. As far as frieght being slow or screwed up this time of year, dont seem to have that problem our load board was farley full adn my dead head miles to get home where only 150. So guess its who you work for.

Still hes sitting at my house its Jan 2nd, they told him to call back Wed morning. why would you sit a driver this long with no ride? he was suppose to be back out on 27 Dec. Stranded is stranded if your not rolling you not making money! he doesnt have a truck they make no contact with the drive just call back later seems to be the only thing they say. this to me doesnt exactly build employee loyalty or long term employees! I do see a lot of company (CRST) drivers in this thread that dont seem they have much time with other companies supporting CRST here, but got news for yall this is not what a job/proffesion are. I know my self i would not put up with the BS thats going on here, i need to make money thats why i work. I was making .18 mile in the early 80s, i know i make a hellva lot more now. couldnt work for .22 mile plus all the deductions and charges they take. not to mention that that mandetory perdieum is a joke! yall are actually loosing money with that deal

sounds kind of weird. students can't train students. you get .31 cpm after 6 months with the company.

We aren't talking about a driver here. We are talking about a student. A student who hasn't even made it through training yet.

i am the student my fiance is an experience otr truck driver. i will go up for 3 weeks in training and in the 4th week he will come up for orientation to be hired. i get .31 cpm because i brought an experienced driver to the company and he gets .49 cpm to train me as a trainer. then we team together.

The forced Per Diem pay is a joke, however you can get out of it with a letter from a cpa stating that you would be better off financially if you were not in the program, so they do give you a way out of it. Also, yes they make the way out of it hard because they want that extra 3cpm in their pocket, not yours.

That just changed within the last couple months..students get the .22/mi right from the get go now. It used to be a straight $350/wk

You have that in writing? I do know they offer incentives to bring in experienced drivers, I just didn't know they offered that big of a pay jump.
