I wouldn't call it support, I just know I seem to have less problems than most because I know how to communicate..and if I don't get the answer I want in a timely fashion...I know how to go to the next guy in charge..and so on...maybe I don't get my answer right away...but I do get my answer...and I don't leave it up to a company that has too many employees and not enough dispatchers to cover them to get back to me.

Everybody is stuck on that .22/mi number...its for 3 months..that's it..and thats after you don't have to pay a dime out of pocket to get that license that allows you to make money.

Sorry but i needed to step in here. There is absolutly NOTHING on here that makes any sense. I pulled freight for a good year at CRST. Problems you ask? yes, ofcourse. Complaints? yes, sometimes. Miles? hell yea...i was begging for a break. I'm not defending CRST, what i am saying is that, in this business you have to know where you stand, and how you are veiwed at the truck stops....Other truckers KNOW how long you've been driving just by talking with you. Where on earth at any trucking company don't you have issues? real issues. Anyone with less than 2 years experiance is STILL A STUDENT.:biggrin_25517:

Why did your son go with CRST? Did he do his research on good and bad companies? He should have gone with a better company like Roehl or Watkins & Shepard.

Have you ever worked for CRST? How do you know that its a bad company?
I have been Owner Op now with CRST for about 2 years. I run solo. I avg
    3100 miles a week at a rate about 1.45 a mile.

crst is not as bad as most people make it. As long as you do your job and don't cry about it to your dispatcher and prove that you are a safe reliable driver there is some good money to be made here.

    Company or owner.

So some one like you who dose not drive a truck for a living. (since you have 4-wheeler in your profile) should not give advice on what companies some one should go work for. When You go to work for one. Then you can say stuff about the company you worked for.

WOW! The $50 a day pay is GONE? That was a streight blessing, know that as a student you can't really "know" how to "bank it" correctly. Godd uck out there. I remember when i got my fisrt paycheck at crst...that week we had a breakdown, two chaining events, and did about 1500 miles. But, me being a new hire i got my $350 check. I actually made more $ than the trainer that winter week back in 2008.:biggrin_255:

I was getting really good checks during training. We were running our butts off. My trainer told me I wouldn't be making that much when I first get on a truck.

But the thing is this kid bailed on his trainer to go home for Christmas. Now someone thinks he should be catered to?

No, I would not recommend CRST to someone with 20 years experience. There are other companies that pay more for teams. But they aren't bad if you need a company to get your CDL for you (I didn't do that.)

Dont mean to bust your bubble but if you think running your butt off for 1.45 a mile @3100 miles a week is good money you have at it! thats why i think out of the box! my frieght starts at 2.50 and goes from there and i dont have to kill my self to make a living!

OK..........so why in the world do "most people" "make it" to be "as bad?"

Certainly, they aren't liars. Are they?

Average $1.45 per mile? :biggrin_2555: (how's your Pinto running these days?) You really are bragging about this?

3100 miles weekly average? No way. No way at all.

    Trucker math.
