I am looking to get into the industry and considered CRST as a company to start my trucking career. The main reason is because CRST is offering to train me as long as I work 8 months with the company. But thanks to all the people on thetruckreport.com, complaintsboard.com, and ripoffreport.com, I decided not to rush into an contract with CRST. Now, I will pay for school on my own and not enter any contract with any company. I still might consider working for CRST, but I want the option to leave if I feel CRST has me making unsafe runs or any other problem.

I'm looking to see if any drivers could recommend a school in Southern California (Inland Empire) that has decent training. I know both Dynasty Trucking School and Dootson Truck Driving School both offer one-on-one training. If anyone knows about either of these two schools or any other please let me know.

    Thanks

Yeah I'm currently at crst right now using their computers. I thought this was an alright school at first but then I started messing up. Now I'm going to say anyone who gets on this site and says kirkwood is great is a bold faced LIAR!!!. I hate calling people that but it is true. I am sore that I messed up on straight line back twice but I'm even more sore that I didn't really get a chance to practice. I asked the head guy short fat guy at window for help. He said we could not train get any extra instructions. What really fed me off is we sat in the class from 645am to almost 10am no instructors nothing. I said what the heck is going on. Where are the instructors were is everyone. What also messes me up is that I know myself if I'm given time to train then I usually don't fail twice I go over the steps in my head. I'm really upset and wished I could get more help with this straight line. I wish you the best of luck I will go with another company if I fail a thrid time but I wish I could do more to help myself cause if you with crst you will have to have previous skills or help yourself.

Backing is one of the easiest things to do. If can't do that, then yes, please try another company. These csa score need to get better anyway.

yeah i passed that but training bad really bad one guy got sent home. Couldnt pass his skills. He was ed backing not backing. Some people are slower. Like the guy who failed today. I'm lucky I'm younger but some people need extra help. I hope I pass my road test tommorrow but like I said I don't want to be behind the wheel.

You can't be serious can you? Backing is the easiest?

Backing is the most technical part of driving a big rig!

If it is "the easiest"....then why do so many have so much trouble doing it?

C'mon up here and see if you can pass my backing test...even with your 8 years of experience! I won't ask anything of you I haven't already done...or attempted to do! With your truck/trailer!

Well the other guy was talking about straight backing. The only thing easier than that is going forward in a straight line.

Yeah I had trouble with that. My problem was I didn't understand what the instructors were telling me to look at. Now I just pass my road test monday and CDL here I come. I can't learn anymore than I know now. Kirkwood has some good instructors and some bad. I now feel confident enough to drive myself home lol.
