I'm looking for information from drivers that have actually done this. Don't want heresay, actual first hand experience. So far from my research This is seeming like a good option for me. Would like to actually talk to someone that did this on the phone would be quicker with less confusion. Feel free to PM me.

Thank you for the information sonic. It's good to get some firsthand info rather than general info and heresay. Helps put things in perspective.

Check out runningman0661, he is doing the LP deal and is doing GREAT!

I am getting ready to sign on as a O/O with them in the next couple of weeks.

I would recommend looking over all the CRST post, there are some good and bad, decide what you are looking for and remember that nothing is a bed of roses and even if you get dealt manure then use it to fertilize your garden.:yes2557:

I am about to start a lease to own with CRST Malone. Because it is flatbed and I live in the Detroit area...I am wondering if it is possible to be home at lease 1 weekend night to see my kids every weekend and still make a decent living without having to fold or go under.
I am not paying any rent and will pretty much be living in my truck. So I don't need to bring home a heck of a lot every week. I just can't be out every weekend for 10-14 days. My kids already told me they would be too sad not to see me on weekends. I know this sounds lame, but I love my kids and they are most important. I want to be home 1 night, then 2 nights the following weekend. I can stay out 2 weeks once in a while, just not every weekend.
The recruiter told me with the load board, I could stay pretty much regional, be home weekends and still make a good living while buying the truck. Any truth to that?
I welcome any and all advice...however I am looking more for people who have good things to say about it...I have heard lots of bad already lol.

    Thanks,
    Don D.

lot of freight in and out of detroit area, need to stay in constant contact with the local crst agents and let them know your plans. to be home 100 percent of the time 1 day per weekend, maybe it could happen but prepare for it not to happen. lots of freight from SE to Ohio and SE mich. good luck

Truthfully, no, not possible. You can't make money that way. Freight is not always going to detroit. From personal exp, i know that rates up there in detroit are not that great. i would the rates coming out of detroit are "break even" rates. To be successful as an o/o, you need to dedicate your life to that truck. I suggest, stay company driver and finad a home weekly dedicated account.
