My first 28 is almost over and boy have i been through alot. This is my first driving job. Yes kirkwood is a terrible place to learn i still can barely back and my trainer rarely lets me.My trainer actually was good i emphasis was because hes been really distracted switching jobs diviorcing his wife and always talking to to this new wonan. so im going to be stuck in cedar rapids again. I'm doing really good driving especially at night but there is no night traffic lol. Besides dropping a trailer things have gone good i take my turns wide and pay attention to everythung because i dont want to hurt anyone john my lead alwways tells me to do things after i do them. Like slow down or turn wide I'm not that confident with mountain driving but is not that bad. I do really need help with backing. Now on to the pay its not that good i was supposed to get a check for at least 100 but i only got 60 part of that wadorn advance aand because of child support. Now the miles have been there crst has a lot of good loads and i actually like driving. The good great truck newer safety oriented. The bad dispatch doent listen bad pay the ugly dropping that trailer hurt my pride no damage except to my ego. Trainer good but talks to this woman like hes 17 in love hes 42 an im 26. And he talks to her allll the time. All in all i would not recommend anybody go to crst unless desperate. Mainly because of pay. training facility sucked i never got to eat (except superbowl). Why not have a fully equipped kitchen or at least feed students i so far have lost 12lbs barely eating. I do think this can be a good company but to me its a stepping stone i have a wife and five kids to look after i need home. If want to get your cdl i would try stevens transport. or msybe prime

you did'nt say anything wrong, i guess your a better man than i am. I would not put myself or my wife and kids through that. If i could not afford to make a huge a career change like that, i would make sure i could put back enough money so there would be no worries. if your letting the trainer get away with being lazy, and not training you , then you might as well get on a bus and go home. the chances of you making it more than six months after you go soln is very slim, more than likely your record will be screwd up and you will be frustrated.

My trainer is not really lazy hes just preoccupied with this woman. He is also preoccupied with going to prime. He was cool at first but i find myself reminding him more and me no other ore. Also I really have no other skills. So o hope to do this for awhile
