Ok so in the welcome packet and orientation paperwork sent via email before I came down here for school it clearly says bring a voided check for direct deposit so now that school is done and I have my class A I started orientation day 1 today only to be told as a class by a woman named Wanda doing orientation that they do not offer direct deposit. Is this true? She is claiming they only offer Com Data but no direct deposit. A few people in my class sat and argued with her over this but she is still insisting it is not an option.
So any CRST drivers is this true or is Wanda misinformed?
Also myself and a few other who live in Northern California were told prior to coming out here that since we don't live near terminal our co drivers will be set up to be within 200 miles of our home so we all are able to take home time without an issue. So today Wanda also tells us that this is not true and that everyone is required to drop the truck in the Fontana yard and get yourself home. Is this true? Had we known this we would have picked a company that has a Northern California location.
Any clarification on these issues is deeply appreciated.

There no true direct deposit. What happen is they load the money on to comdata and then you get it trasferd to tour bank account.
No you will not need to drop the trick off in fontna. You will have to drop it off at a drop yard or a terminal. I no there a drop yard in north cali just not to sure
If you live 200 miles from a drop yard or a terminal then you can take truck homeCRSTMaria Thanks this. -

Misinformation here. CRST no longer pays a straight $50 a day they pay $.22/mi as soon as you get on the truck with your trainer. There is a drop yard in Stockton, Ca where you can leave the truck during hometimeCRSTMaria Thanks this. -

When I started there it was $50/day, but this was in Jan of '11. So now the students actually make more money due to the pay scale rebuild. To answer your question about DD, Comdata requires a copy of the voided check (or if your bank offers it, like chase does for instance, a direct deposit "form") be copied and sent to them. That way if you get an advance, or a payday comes in, you can call the comdata automated system and have any amount of funds that are currently available to you deposited into your bank account, or write a comchek as well.
The system works out well actually, also both Chase and US Bank (my former) had the funds available to me no later than the next business day, however chase seems to go in at about 2AM the morning after the day of your transfer. -
wonder why yours is delayed 2 hours? -
