I'm suppose to go to the 3-4 wks training classes in Hazelwood, Missouri. I've read the information but I would love to be enlightened a little more by someone who has already gone through the process. So if you have any information you would like to share with me please:biggrin_25514: let me know.

Congrats on being clean for 6 months, but if you have to worry about a follicle test EVER truck driving is not for you. To answer your question tho no as far as im aware CRST does not do a follicle test however.

yeah do a search. most of the stuff here is from 07-08 very little that is recent. I am a current CRST driver and i will tell ya they arent the greatest company to work for, but I have definitely worked for worse.

Yes there are some issues, but when an error is made from my experience they are very quick to fix the mistake if you talk to them with respect. I have been in 2 trucks a 2010 columbia and a 2012 cascadia and both were in ship shape condition. no major problems at all. the 2010 had a few MINOR issues and they were all fixed right away.

I've had 1 mistake on my pay and it was fixed the following pay check. So a lot of the things you read on these boards is complete crap or has changed majorly since they were posted in 07-08.

the more recent ones are mostly from no running cry babies who think everything should be all about them and screw the next guy.

The school contract is a joke and I would never in a million years sign it. anyone who would has to be out of their minds or have no other option. So that part i agree with.

As far as the rest go i'll go to bat against them anytime anywhere. I'm not afraid to admit they have their bad points, but all companies do and anyone who just wants to complain can stick it where the sun don't shine. Like the saying goes opinions are like as*holes everybody's got one and some are cleaner than others.

I have ran twice with CRST, not a bad outfit if you like teams. I do not. Did my rookie training with them. First time had a bad truck, after 3 shop tours they gave us another and I bailed. Came back for round 2 and had a good ride. They are as fair as any other I guess, just avoid Laredo and Miami. Both are truck parking lots. Do your time and move on, there are better places out there. Not bad just not real good.

thats why i said they arent the best but not the worst either. great to see someone else besides me on here saying CRST isnt the worst company in the world and will destroy you and suck your soul out through your eyes after eating them.

yes i know no one has said that but they might as well from all the bashing i read.

go look up covenant or us express or cr england or jb hunt or marten transport or swift or werner or any other big company out there and youll find the same lame as* people b*tching about the same things. how they got screwed over. how they didnt get the miles. how they couldnt make any money. the list goes on and on and on.

thats how big companies are your just a truck number not a name, but at least with a big company you know they arent out for you unlike small ones who will say they are only there to make you money then screw you over every chance they get.

ive never NOT been paid by a big company(when i was owed money), but have went weeks with no pay(when owed) at small ones if that tells ya anything.

dont do it your better off going and getting the state to pay for your schooling (if your low income) than going thru CRST's school. you wont get much out of the school and be basically indentured to them for 8 months.

If you go to their school and decide to quit before your 8 months is up they will sue you for the money(4000+ dollars) and destroy your credit due to you signing the contract. Also if you sign the contract no one else will touch you if you do decide to leave because CRST has a reputation of suing companies for poaching their students. they have sued at least 2 major companies(werner and schneider) i know of and won both suits for millions of dollars.

so in conclusion dont go to school with them do it on your own get financial aide if you have to and do it thru your local college(if they have truck drivers training) then CRST will reimburse you for the classes rather than you being trapped with them under contract for 8 months.

if your asking about pay its .22 cents per mile for half the miles on the truck(so 1000 dispatched miles pays you 500 miles X .22 or $110.00). you get that for 6 months then it goes up to either .32 or .34 for the last 2 months.

if you think that makes no sense its the exact same as other companies do but they give you half the pay .11/mile and pay you the whole amount of miles 1000 miles which still comes out to $110.00.

I hope this helps to answer your question.
