They are going to take their 25% no matter where you get the load.

Hello, my bf has been driving for over 6 yrs and is looking to lease purchase with CRST Malone. I agree with your thoughts on following negative comments. So, have you personally heard of these contract issues for l/p and o/o being real problems? It does sound strange, signing a contract and then a couple months down the road being asked to sign a new one. He is very business minded and runs hard, keeping his butt in the seat! He's not a whiner whatsoever and will work to succeed. We just don't want to knowingly get caught in a contract snaggle designed to make us fail. Thank you for any info you have to share!

CRST Malone doesn't want you to fail. The new contract is exactly the same as it was just worded differently. Legal mumbo jumbo. The only thing that know one seems to know is why it ends on april 1st this year. They seem to think its a typo. That being said, this is a leave at will contract. You dont' like the way things are going. Then you can leave at any time.. Despite what other companys might do to Lease purchase drivers, Malone wants you to own your truck. so its in their best interest that you do well.. Again doing well is up to you. You have to be pro active in soliciting help if you need it. They aren't there to hold your hand, but will do what ever they need to to help you succeed. Its up to you. Good luck

Things and times have changed at CRST Malone, I have been with them almost one year, turned down 2 hot loads they wanted me to take to places it is not easy to get a load back out with and since then freight has been very hard for me to get. I ran hard, started with them Feb 20th of 2012 and grossed just over 153,00, with them, but if they want a load delivered and you refuse (THEY SAY OK) but really it is not. It seems in the past 3 months things have really changed and not for the good. I am a O/O and have always prided myself on never being late, no customer complaints, no charge backs because of damage to the product.

It has been a good experience for me and did not plan on leaving, but when you go from 4 loads a week to one load, dh from 5% to 25% it doesn't take long to figure out you need to find another job.

Not True 2.00 a mile? Listen. If my expenses are $2000 a week (fuel, truck payment, insurance, ifta, License and permits, maintenance) and I run 2000 miles a week,(empty and loaded miles) is that not a true $1.00 a mile cost? So that being said if I gross $4000 to the truck is that not a true $2.00 a mile gross to the truck. Don't split hairs. Your either happy with what your making or your not. If your not, there are 100's of company's you could work for. Things are slow now for everyone, not just Malone. Talk to other drivers when your getting loaded, they'll tell ya the same thing.

Its simple, if anyone reads the posts of any company, whether it be lease purchase, O/O or whatever,,,they are all the same... The Good, Bad and the Ugly comes from all sides. The trick, is to read what is said and learn.....

Well said. Ive been trying to do research on where to lease on as an o/o for months now, and it doesnt matter where i look, there are always a pile of negative comments and people who have supposedly gotten hosed by a company. With that said, im still strongly considering leasing on with crst mal in spite of some of the negative comments bc the positive comments coming from the people succeeding make absolute sense. Like my mother always used to say, you either sink or swim on your own, nobodys going to do it for you.

for you guys that currently work there and know the system, how will i do working out of my area? I live in the wi, mn, ia tristate, on the banks of the beautiful mississippi. Are there any loads out of and back in to my home area? Or will i be deadheading to find work?
