If you want the L/P people, you should improve the safety ratings. They can do better, elsewhere, as well. -
Its all in what u make of it here at Malone. You work for yourself you go where you want and if u don't make it its your fault
SheepDog Thanks this. -
I don't understand these drivers that work for CRST and state that they can't find loads. Don't get me wrong, I understand freight is tight at times but at Malone you have several options to find freight, that is one of the things I like about them. You can attempt to get loads from FM, Load Board, Agents or Brokers. Sounds like the only way you would get a load is because you didn't look at all your options.

Boy, all the Malone drivers that work, must be busy..lol I found Tim Spence, a recruiter that worked for Malone earlier this year. He stated that about 20% actually complete the lease and that when you get your truck, belie ache until you get the one you want. He said when you get it, it will not be clean, that's the case at most places with company trucks. SNI and TMC will make sure your truck is clean when you get it and SNI will make sure it is clean when you turn it in. Wish all companies were that way, I hate cleaning other peoples crud out of the truck.

You take on the operating cost of a truck driven by trainees for 3 years, to not own the truck in the end. When you could have leased directly though freightliner, and got a new truck for the same price.
Tell me, Mr businessman spending pointless money upkeeping a clunker, how does that not suck? -
Not to mention, if the driver could have walked down the Freightliner and financed his truck, he probably wouldn't L/P. For the record, financing isn't necessarily the right answer to owning a truck either. The best avenue, in my opinion as well as others, is to save your money and buy an older truck outright. You than start out with a paid for truck. Doesn't mean your not going to have maint. issues though.. -
The Fact that is a lease means you're only renting the truck, not buying it. We're all training, and driving what will be leased after 3 years when it comes off the road.
You don't actually buy the truck, but now you're paying for gas and repairs and stuff like that. Crst makes sure to give you the miles to cover your bill. Your paycheck if taking over their cost of running that truck and paying for the new truck I'll get soon.
Unless you come with your own truck, you fell for the "scam" -
It's easy to sit in your company truck and look at it the way you do but, that is not the business way to look at it. L/P is an option, at purchasing you own truck, if that is what you want to do. Not everyone can got to Freightliner and finance a truck or, wait 5/10 years to save up the money to buy a truck outright. This is an option. It may not be an option for you, and that's fine. At CRST Malone, if a driver has the attitude that Malone "gives" him/her loads than they will probably fail in a short time. The business minded driver will not except loads that are not profitable and, looks for his/her own loads.
You really should do your homework and educate yourself before you make bold statements as you have. BTW, in the trucking world we don't buy gas....Gereke Thanks this.
