Starting from the bottom and being blatantly lied to to get into a contract are two very different things.

I went to CRST driving school in Fontana and I saw firsthand the type of person they hire. From the beginning some people did not know how to socially interact without complaining about CRST. Some people never even gave being happy a chance. I have my complaints about CRST, but there is legitimate complaints and im-just-being-a-sissy complaint.
The training is a joke, but the miles are serious as hell. If you wanna roll, they will keep you running.
My team partner likes to complain about the pay, but does not want to put in the WORK to get paid. CRST is good for motivated individuals who will take responsability for advancing their skills and career. If you expect your trainer to teach you everything, that wont happen anywhere! Their is always something NEW to learn. My partner will ##### and moan because he has a Hours of Service violation on the qualcomm. He says his trainer never taught him and puts ALL the blame on his trainer and CRST. I told him I have never once seen him pick up the qualcomm and learn it. They even sent him to safety department to take a Qualcomm Logs class because of his violations and he still claims noone has taught him about the logs!
What I'm trying to get at is that CRST is not the problem 90% of the time. When you go to school, you will see what I mean. From day one you will meet LAZY NEGATIVE sometimes DIRTY people who will blame the entire world before looking at themselves for a solution to " CRST" problems.
The training program is a joke, finding a good partner is HARDER than learning true driving skills on your own, and getting chains is hard. Besides that, you will run as hard as you can work and you can actually come out ahead if your not LAZY and NEGATIVE.

    OTR50 and Gemilz Thank this.

Oh. Crst. Truly sucks. It does
I went to a co that has 227 trucks. I get better loads. Home every weekend. Better ins. Free life ins and not the 7-10 k. Crap I drive a 2013 kw t660 Take home ove 750 a week. After expenses. Guaranteed pay. Paid every act miles loaded or empty dispatch. Calls me by my name. Not v140 8 paid holidays a yrs at 160 a day 150 detention pay. 150 unload pay 1 st stop 50 each after.
How goods crst. ?? There not. 8 times they called. Wanting me back. I was there when new pay scale came out. 13 weeks out. To max the miles for a 1300 dollar bonus. Dude.
Try 100 a week to loose. Your time off Thats the buy out. Of your time 100 a week
Call a recruiter we want you back 1500 sign on bonus. If you stay 6 months Dude. There about to go under. Half the office staff has left. 5100 drivers is down to 2900-3100 Over 200 new trucks a yr old still parked. Lost there law suit with the girl in ohio.
Again. Has over a 70%. Driver turn over rate DOT. Is eye balling them to close the doors aswell. On sms points repair Problems last 3 trucks i had with them was junk clutches burned out. Body damage so bad it was taped in to place with trailer tape. I still have photos of body parts that had jagged edges that Dot. Would write up. And they wanted me to drive that crap. Again. How good are they ?? But you say im wining. No. Thats more like proof.
Oh well. Company puden pop Be a super trucker for the gold team. See how well they have your back. If you hit some thing. Or cost them sms points. By failing. Or just getting a scale ticket Ask my old co driver. He got loaded. Hit the chicken coupe. Got popped. They. Said. He had to go. Shame. In nc. And connecticut. Theres very few scales. To check. But never go out of route. With them. Or some one hounds you. Been there seen it They suck. (.) period

Every company out here has it's problems. It matters not where you go. I remember what CRST was a halfway decent company. I also know the year they went to hell in a hand basket. I started my career off with CRST in 1996. Took 6 months off to try something new and went back. I had 15 Co-Drivers and 3 Students in 4 years. In 2001 something happen I know not what, and the company was never the same.

Wait, I know what happen.............. I LEFT THEM. :occasion5:

I'm glad sir to read your blog. I spoke to a recruiter today, and I feel anxiety about the unknown.
However, 13 year's in the Army, I know how complainers can be. I only want to know that before giving up my apt. and selling my stuff that I am going to get good training. "You fight like you train". I am a people person, and I am looking for miles. I have been reading blogs which advise for new grads solo
is the way to go-Your opinion..?
