Since CRST is the only company I will have to go with, I want to know these questions to at least be satisfied that Iam going with this company. If anyone know these questions please help me out.

1). What school do they send you to get your CDL and where is the location of that school?
2). Is it better to get Hazmat? / Are you required to have Hazmat Endorsement on your CDL? I feel that I dont want to have hazmat yet. I was planning to get it later.
3). What are the miles can a team drivers average in a week at CRST?
4). On hometime where will the truck be parked at?
5). On hometime how will both drivers get home on one truck?
6). What trucks team drivers get and how old is the average fleet?
7). Do CRST trucks have APU's installed in them? I dont want to be dying inside a truck when its to hot for me.
    8. Do they get loads through Florida a lot and would hometime be hard for me? Many companies dont hire for this reason so I want to know
9). At a cpm of .22 how much can I expect to make per week? Its a low pay and the lowest Ive ever seen
10). I want to know about their rider policy.
11). And how much will I need in total to attend their school and the whole program?

Get all the endorsements you can up front. I don't see how they can have a rider policy when you're driving teams. This is one company that courts students in my CDL school and you're right, the rates are extremely low. I think the company is exploiting and taking full advantage of new drivers with these low rates. Recruiter (and we all know how they lie) said new drivers will make about $600 to $650 per week AFTER you're on the truck driving teams so it would probably be safe to undercut that by about 100 bucks or so since big company recruiters lie like rugs. Do the math and figure out how many hours you're on the truck and it comes out to slave wage. You do know there are other companies that will train you, right? Just wondering why you're going with CRST. There's an entire thread on this forum about CRST. Check it out, you can probably find the answers to all of your questions there. Sorry I couldn't help with the other questions but once the recruiter said 20-some cents I came down with a severe case of disgust and didn't pay attention to anything else he said.

    Did you check with FFE?
They have terminals in Miami & Winter Haven.
They will train you; give them a call, number on website.

I agree with 900, endorsements are good but if you don't feel comfortable with one don't get it because if you have it you will be expected to use it. Flip side to that is if you don't have it you will be passed over for a drvr w/ a needed endorsement if thats the only type ld there is out of there. No offense but have you talked to crst? You don't seem to know much about what to expect, even a recruiter will answer most of those you have honestly, for the miles per month and pay, layover ect. questions ask a couple of crst drivers. I say a couple because 1 may be getting screwed and the one beside him thinks crst is the greatest. No matter what you hear, the miles will rarely be what you want, the pay will be short cause your new, you will miss home and hate the road but don't give up, if being a trk drvr is what you really want to be it takes time to find comfort, pay, home time, enough miles, more cpm, get the picture? No one gets a cdl and makes .40-.42 cpm with a dedicated run that gets you home every weekend, you HAVE to put in the time to get to a point where companies know you have earned it. They will under pay you with out even thinking about it because you're new and they can. Earn it and you can be happy as a trk driver.

I have never driven for CRST as I have heard so much negative about them. However, have heard good reports as mentioned about FEE (Frozen Food Express) out of Dallas. You can't be too choosy but do look .around and talk to some of their drivers before you hire-on

check I think that 22 cents is split so each driver is at 11 cents but I may be wrong CRST tends to brag a lot I see them sitting in Carlisle all the time

I don't trash many companies, but .22/mile split is theft in my opinion. Maybe it gets better, but you should be able to make good money driving team or it is not worth it in my honest opinion.

not only is it 22cpm split but also forced dispatch and they fine you 150 dollars to turn down a load and that 500 a month extimate is what they tell you in orientation b4 they take out your payment for school so for that first year you get paid less than a fry cook at mcdonalds to drive their truck look anywhere but there
