lies lies. I run west almost everytime and agents cater too the guys who show up on time with no problems and ive yet too meet an owner op here that isn't nice and friendly and answered any question ive asked them if you had a bad experience here just say it and let it go but don't get on here discouraging others with stuff that's 100% wrong.

Trucfamm was actually quite helpful. To get the full picture of what the deal is you need the good and the bad. Plain and simple. Trucfamm has a heap of other posts on another thread here about CRST Malone and that really helped. Another person who has the LP down is 32swife.
She's a genie llol anyways. So far everything I have read about Malone tops CR England. *shivers*
at .90 CPM and all their money comes out you come home with 200-500 cash. And that is their LP program. Granted they give you decent trucks but the payments are high as hell.
But at an average of 1.5 -2.1 seems like one can make money with Malone.

Are there good weekend loads to run? When I was with TMC the best loads were the weekend loads. Dam I thought it was like that everywhere.

I am a L/P driver for CRST Malone Currently, I have nothing bad to say about them, Your Dispatcher or what ever you want to call them will help you if you are new and need it, but your basically on your own, They have a a few ways of finding loads you can use the Loadboard, or Call the agents directly, they have a Customer Service Dept in a couple terminals that also get loads, there's also CRST Logistics dept that brokers loads out but you can get loads from them, and lastly you can use outside brokers, basically when your booking freight you want to use that order preference when looking, however I highly suggest you make friends with the Agents that's where the money is at least for me, I Live around Chattanooga, and I Primarily Run California, and North Dakota, I've Never been told to stay in the box but i suggest that you do I did when i started, mainly to get comfortable making the transition from company driver to L/P, but also Breakdowns, get to know your truck first before you head out west, there is money to be Made here, back in march i set up a Run that was From GA to CA and Back and my I was Grossing 9,000 a week i Ran every load we had out to Calexico CA to the Mt Signal Solar Project for 4 weeks.

Whenever i venture out to new places the Frindship that i have built with the hanfull of agents I run with 90% if the time is how i make my money, I've done Favors for them and once or twice i took a hit on the load but in return the other 99% of the time they know who i am, i get offered Good loads and Good Rates, before i left the house 2 weeks ago i got a call asking me if i could cover a load that was paying 1100 on 200 miles with 5 drops that would end 45 miles from home, so yeah i took it.

I Highly Recommend that you Have a Smart Phone, WiFi hotspot, a Computer and a Printer on your truck, and Adobe Pro, you can Scan Everything in your truck Organize receipts on the weekends, Transflo from your Truck and on the Occasions when they need to send you something or you need to send the office something you can pull over at a rest area or truck stop and handle it quickly and get back on the road, like if your going to haul oversized hay and need ND and SD permits

ALSO! i highly recommend, that you Enroll with EZ Pass, and Pike Pass, Its Free, the money you pay up front is just loaded onto the accounts for tolls, and set up an account with your bank, mine is called tolls, i keep 600 in there and let the Toll tags auto refill out of that account, I also Recently just Tried out Drivewize its a PrePass type system that works with your smart phone, they have a 90 day trial and since CRST Malone Safety scores are too high to have a PrePass. and yes i get Green lights in the States it works in.

also Log In to the malone website everyday to check the Fuel Prices our Discount Changes Daily with Loves and TA, Pilot is a Solid Contracted Rate but its still high, i fuel at TA most of the time, another thing the Fuel card is NOT open on every load you need to get a Fuel Advance, This is how i decide on mine, ( Miles/6*3.9 ) ex (1000/6= 166.6 gal *3.9= $650) the CRST uses a different calculation it will result in a Larger Fuel Advance but my thought was on Friday with my Equation puts more money on my settlement, and it works for me.,

Maintenance they Do NOT Do Overhead's on any of their tractors nor will they allow you to use the money you pay into the maintenance program to pay for it, I suggest that when you can afford it take your truck to a Detroit Shop like Clark Power and Pay out of your Pocket for a Overhead, and anything they find broken that needs to be replaced CRST will cover under the maintenance program, i cant think of anything else but if you have any questions fell free to let me know i havent been on the forum in a while but i will check back in on the thread

im thinkng about going over to malone soon. i use to work for their expd division a while back but hated teams but like the long runs out west i really dont listen to many drivers out on the road or on here but its good to know their are a few that still tell it like it is and are willing to give a few pointers to drivers that are still new to the industry like my self i dont have have a billion years driving a truck but i have a couple and still consider myself a certified steering wheel holder at lest for another few years but ive always been a self dependent person especially when it comes to work. ive always wanted to work for myself and take in all i can from seeing and listening to others and then molding into a way i can use it. been wanting to be an owner op and my best chance is l/ping with a company. the whole "i have to look for my own loads" well thats just somthing all owners of any company has to do to make money and i like the fact i can find a load going to were i wanna go to make money even if it is just a few hundred miles away. but all in all im still on ptl's dedicated on oklahoma and wont go anywere till after the new year. if any wanna let me know how things are going over with malone please feel free to shoot me a few lines id love to hear some cool stories and see how things are going out west cause man i miss the mountains :(

My boyfriend is a lease purchase on the Malone side, recently he was told that if I wanted to ride along as his passenger I would have to relinquish my cdl to the company to ride with him. I am currently on the van side but on a dedicated account. I have no desire to give up my cdl so am still doing the dedicated stuff but was wondering if anyone had ever heard of this? I think its insane as they are not DOT and have no business asking for my license...

yeah its True, I know of a few Drivers who have Canceled their Contract with Malone over This policy. Basically its because with your CDL you can Drive his Tractor but your not Insured to drive his truck and if you or anyone else who drives happens to get into an accident its bad all around. they will not waver on it either its a solid policy, i've heard a few L/P drivers get into with upper management on the conference calls and one guy quit on a conference call because of this, but they don't care and will not grant a exception.
