When you filled out all that paperwork and signed that contract when you hired in you MAY have agreed to allow the company to deduct tickets and fines from your earnings. Now take into account that every state has their own laws governing the % that can be witheld from your check each time. Wage and hours for your state can give you that information. Also in some states you can not sign away away your legal rights, like Michigan where I live. If you did not give your employer singed permission to deduct fines from your check then you still need to call wage and hours and file a legal complaint against then. IF ALL THAT FAILS THEN TELL THEM TO STICK THEIR JOB.

In Georgia, an employer cannot withhold anything from your paycheck except taxes and what you give written approval of. Did you sign anything in orientation giving them permission? If not, check your state laws.

Well you probably Don't wanna here this BUT the companydid NOT DRIVE OVER THE RESTRICTED BRIDGE--
YOU DID -
Not sure how long he was training people. When I have more time I will go into detail on him.
One thing he did, and I figured out rather quickly, was get scammed by Nigerians.
He laid on this line of how he was married, and his wife was coming into the airport yada yada.
We stopped at the airport, in the truck, not under load and went to the airport to pick this lady up.
He had been wiring money, like hundreds of dollars at a time to this "wife"
I never saw a picture, never heard a phone call, nothing. He got played, and tried to play it off like he wasn't getting scammed.
Two things gave it away though:
A) I have worked in the IT industry for 20+ yrs and have seen/heard just about every 419 scam there is out there.
B) He said she was coming into the US with thousands of dollars in gold, and customs tied her up and she needed money to pay for the paperwork to get the gold into the country.
That's just a little info on the situation lol
It's pretty easy in these times to find out international flight information.
I checked, and there was no flight coming into the airport from that country at that time.
I mean really, who is going to have you meet them at an airport to pick them up - yet not give you any arrival, gate, flight, time information?
So on a side note I was just going through some of my old check stubs from CRST - and I forgot how bad I was getting raped
As soon as I can edit them (bar out personal info) I will up them for your amusement.
Hopefully other rookies and wanna be truckers will read it, and think hard before making to jump into that place. -

The student doesn't know better and is told to follow his teachers instruction which the student did.
in 8 days of training most students are still working on staying between the lines and watching mirrors and making sure they don't miss exits.
This is something that happened today a trainer told his student to do a u turn in grass at a company student followed teachers direction end result property damage and truck / trailer stuck to bottom of fairings in mud, tow truck needs to be called out. Who would you think is at fault? If we would agree that trainer should have known better then how can one just put all the blame on the student who has the most experience in either situation the trainer or the student?NavigatorWife, Lux Prometheus, linuxjoe and 1 other person Thank this. -
How much driving experience do you have?
Several good companies hiring out of Tampa. -
The fine surely does suck, and I would have quit were I in your position. You were driving, but your "trainer" should have manned up and taken at least some responsibility. I went over that bridge a couple of months after I started driving, and I was given a ticket for $80, I believe. I saw the detour signs, but misread them. At that point, I think the detour was US 1, not 295, and there were several prominent signs - I just misread the first one and ignored the others. Lots of trucks went by as I was on the shoulder with the trooper, just like you. That's one mistake I won't make again. Sorry, but I can't help with your legal question. Companies dock pay for many reasons - some legitimate, some not. I don't know what recourse you have. Good luck.
linuxjoe Thanks this.
