And see, that's what I am not too sure about.
I've done a lot of research into CRST litigation when it comes to the contracts of the students.
From what I understand, if you break the contract and go to work for a competitor then they can legally get you in court. If you leave the company and have a different job between driving for them, breaching the contract, and hiring in somewhere else, you should be able to drive with another company, because there was another job in between driving for CRST, and driving for said new company.
Regardless of the circumstances to allow you the ability to drive for another company, they do have the legal means to recoup the money spent on your training. I am not sure how long you have to be away from them, before taking another company that hires you to court would be null/void.
Of course thats speculation and conjecture at this point, as I've seen no hard evidence of this to date.
That's strictly the rumor mill, which as everybody knows has a life of its own.
Worst-case scenario I go back to CRST, and finish out the ######## contract.
As you can see by the pay stubs that I posted above, it really was not good working for CRST.
I would hesitate to return there, for the simple fact of the $3000 bridge ticket that they were deducting from my paycheck. That is the reason why I asked about the legality of them being able to do that.
If I do have to return there, and they think they're going to take that check and deduct the bridge ticket from it, I will tell them to pound sand because legally they have no recourse.
I am not able to do that unless I have a factual answer. Short of going and talking to my attorney, I figured someone here may have some type of insight into this particular situation.
I am going to troll the Internet for a copy of the CRST contract, to see what information I can glean from it. I have a pitbull for an attorney that will put a boot up their ###.
I was seriously looking at Conway truckload, because they have their own independent refresher course/student training program.
I am still not sure how it will play or shake out, but I should find out soon and I will update and let you know, and hopefully it will help someone else going forward in the future.
Company force Deducts bridge ticket!!

this is what happens when you try to apply the same logic to every situation
the guy says his trainer lives in the area, hence, there are things local people know that outsiders do not know
if a local guy (that i trust) tells me that the BQE or the Cross Bronx Bridges that are marked 12'6 and the like are ok to go under, i will believe himlinuxjoe Thanks this. -

Scary stuff man! You at minimum should have been told, which I know it's even a question on the CDL test to downshift before going down a hill.
The test also has questions in the airbrake section on using your stab braking when descending hills.
You got lucky my friend. -
From the pic he took, looks like he was coming out of MA, going south. If he had been in RI going north, they had some great BIG signs, lighted and evreything, telling you to take 295. Always wondered why MA couldn't be as nice with the signage.
