I hear ya. Well if the company didn't have you sign any paper of you responsible for all the fines you should be in the clear for only the ones you are issued to you. Also as other people stated different states have different laws. I hope you get your money back. And get a better company to work for take care :)

you don't have to go back to crst for anything, and they can not take you to court, if they did this they would have to have an attorney camp out in the court room, to handle all the cases they would have. You will most likely not get a larger company to take you on, which only leaves you with a smaller company. you will most likely be better off anyways and as a previous O/O leased to them years ago, your pay wouldn't ever get any better. Good luck with your search and by the way if with a trainer he is responsible as he is suppose to be training you, not sitting there like a knott on a log.

As I recall, a driver friend of mine got a that ticket a few years back.

I remember him saying that he had to pay the entire $3k... In fact i want to say it was $3500 at the time.

He never once said anything about the ticket being two parts. one for him, and one for the company.

Are you sure your company was fined? Or were only you ticketed/fined and your company payed the fine for you and started deductions for repayment?

Ive yet to hear of a overweight tickets written to the company. Maybe I haven't been around long enough.

A driver should know his weight and his route.

You are talking about 2 years ago... it was a bridge that everyone should know is open now to all trucks.

Also, even as far back as 4 years ago there were huge signs and PLENTY of opportunities to see those warning signs. Even big electric signs. I used to shake my head when my fleet manager would ramble on about another driver getting a ticket. Id driven that route many of times and saw the signage. More than enough signs for warning. If this was 6 or more years ago maybe you could say the signage was small

Never mind. I found his number. He payed like $90 for his ticket. To keep his job he had the company fine deducted from his pay.

He admits it was his fault, he liked his job, and he was willing to bet they'd hit is DAC if he refused to pay and quit or got fired

    :biggrin_255:

So for everyone who was following this thread for general information, I got a very exciting update today, and I am still not sure how this managed to happen o_O
( either way i have a copy of the document in my email, so no matter what the story changes to going forward, I have the one that shows im free and clear :))

This is for every person who, like me did not do any enough due diligence, know about this awesome resource called TTR, and thought about the other options available to the noob out here wanting to get involved into driving for a living.

It's late, I am exhausted, so this will not be a long post but I will be around tomorrow for more in-depth explanations and to answer questions that I have the correct knowledge to answer.

If you read the previous pages in this thread, I included all of my pay stubs, so there is no doubt what I am saying is factual and proven information.
I had rescinded myself to one of two options:

    A) Go back to CRST and finish the 3 months on my contract, which is an indentured slave, pick some cotton for free situation
    B) Make some form of a payment arrangement, so that I can get them to release the verification showing I worked there, and a company worth a #### would hire me.

I applied to 2 companies in the last couple of days, and after phone calls to both I told them right from jump:

"I started at CRST, brought home NEGATIVE paychecks, and split before contract was completed"

Both companies and myself figured the same thing - NO way in hell they are going to verify anything since I bailed before my 8 months was up.... typical I know, but what did I have to lose? NOTHING - the worse they can say is NO

20 minutes later I get a call from the first company, and the guy tells me the following:

"You wont believe this, but they verified the time you worked there, from this date to this date, equipment used, no accidents, no tickets, and no failed drug tests!!!!"

This confused me for a couple of reasons, because I know the queue is a mile long for this exact same thing, from all the people before me they shafted with no lube, dinner, or a reach around.

I had him email me that information so I can see it with my own two eyes, and sure as #### he wasn't lying.

The very next call I made, was to the other company I spoke to, and she said "I was getting ready to call you just now with good news"

She said the same thing to me the first company said.
I asked her to read my DAC they sent to her:

NO Bridge Ticket (per this previous thread above I spoke about)
    NO Contract
    No Accident
    No Nothing!

According to the paperwork that CRST sent to both of these companies today - My contract was completed, and I have nothing else to do with them.
If I was under contract, they would not sent a verification at all from what I have come to understand - and it even states they would rehire me!

For those whom do not believe this, I am including the paper with a couple identifiable redaction's for proof.
Keep in mind, I have not driven for them, or contacted them since 9/2012.

I paid them no money, I made no payment arrangements, zip, zilch, nada - jack or ####, in that order.

Based on this information I am free and clear, which means an entire new world of getting back to driving has opened up to me.

Point is, Never paid them a penny, never contacted them about returning to finish my contract, and they still showed proof of employment, and my DAC is CLEAN - as in no employment history at all!!!

I stopped working for them in 07/2012 - So dont take no for an answer and never give up.

I am still doing a little digging, but 5 companies today told me they will hire me tomorrow, all I have to do is call and commit.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post this as a sticky or something so all these people see that it is not the end of the world.

Took me a little bit, but I went from being forced into making garbage wages at CRST - to .36+ a mile or more depending on where I decide to go.
I know Conway, or Heyl pay that range - so now its just a choice of APU's/Inverters/Terminal Locations etc on what is going to make me the most comfy while out there.

Opinions, Comments - Bring em ... I always am up for more experienced people with knowledge.
If you are just going to come on here and spout ######## with no factual information to back it up - do us all a favor and go piss in the wind, preferably with your mouth open

(P.S.) I pulled the images off here of the info I was sent, cause you never know what company troll will come along and shaft ya!

Don't. Linger, pick a company now while the iron is hot. You lolly gag around and things can change, also take any and all proof with you just in case it's needed. But pick a company and go...
