Could I go out and finance a truck? Sure I could. However, I would much rather test the waters and see if I have the goods to make it before financing something with a payment I'll be stuck with even if I fail. At least with a lease, if I can't cut it, I can walk away. I didn't come in to a lease without realizing that if I do fail, I'll probably have some money I owe, but won't have a truck sitting my yard that I'm still paying on for the next couple years while I go work as a company driver.

And yes, at Malone, you get the truck they give you. But, if that truck has major mechanical problems or too many little DOT issues, you can refuse it and get a different one. DOT issues are fixed without question also. I don't honestly care that I might get a truck with a cracked grill or rusty white rims, those are minor things I can deal with myself after I decide if I'm going to even finish the lease and those issue won't keep me from making money. As for the condition, you get a mechanically sound truck and that's all that matters. Even if you do have a major mechanical failure, they will give you a truck to use at no extra cost until yours is fixed.

Also, please re-read what I said. I did NOT say that financing doesn't usually work. What I said was no finance is perfect, just like no lease is perfect.

What gets me is people read on here something written by or talk to a driver that failed with a lease and form an opinion from what was said by disgruntled drivers that couldn't hack running their own business. Are there crap leases out there, oh heck yes. But there are good ones too. Malone's lease program is one of the better ones. Trust me, I researched for over a year before finally deciding on one. I also didn't have a recruiter lie to me. Heck, they under-sold what I could make. But see, in my orientation class, there were 25 people. 5 of us with flatbed experience. The rest, unless they are smart enough to figure things out in a hurry, will probably fail simply because they don't know flatbedding. Then they will turn around and claim it's all Malone's fault.

To be honest, leases are not terrible choices to own a truck as long as you do your research and don't make a terrible choice of a lease. CRST is NOT a terrible choice, they just have butt ugly trucks so people assume they must be a bad choice. I love my butt ugly truck. The money it makes keeps mama happy :D

Long story.....Well....Long.... You don't like leases, and I like CRST's lease program. Let's leave it at that and call it a day, it's time for bed. God bless.
