So I have decided to go to crst. It is my option at this point due to my circumstances. It is what I need to do to get my feet back in the door. I have seen some things about how the facility up there is not so nice and is set up in a bunk setting.I am having a hard time with this since everything i see or read is like 2 or 3 years old. My question is , I will be there for 2 weeks, I see on google there is a roadway inn across the street. Since in the long run I pay for my stay at their facility anyway, i am wondering if the roadway inn gives a good rate or does anyone know of another hotel close buy that does? If I can get close to what I would pay the company I am willing to go that route in order to have a bit of a self sustaining accommodation rather than a dorm setting. Also, i would not have self transportation so that would be another thing to factor in. Any suggestions from anyone who has been there and done that?

Everything you read is still true. If you still have a CDL, I think most roadways have a discount. But if you're in CR for 2 weeks, I'm guessing you dropped it back down to a regular license. The roadway is an option, but make sure you communicate with your recruiter, the people making you sign the agreement to pay them back, or else you'll be paying them for a room you never slept in. And they charge you the average rate for 2 people in a room, so you might actually save money by getting your own single room. Just keep in mind, that motel isn't exactly the nicest, but it's the only option outside of an hour walk. You're also right next to a drug rehab, so expect late night knocks on the door when some of them want to cheat but have no money to do it. There's also a hotel that CRST uses for their drivers, don't trust that, because you rely on the shuttle to get back and forth and sometimes they just don't feel like leaving yet. But ultimately, long as you don't use a black light in the motel, it's probably WAY better than staying at the terminal.

Thanks Rockstar. I wondered about the 2 week thing but as far as I am told,ha, i have the 2 weeks because my experience driving to now is almost a 9 year gap. Well not like I forgot how to pre trip and drive or anything. I am sure it is not the hilton there at the roadway but it cannot be too bad . I saw a couple or reviews on line that were nothing real bad.. There were some bad ones but seemed to be a few years ago. It has to be better than communal with 100+ students in a building with communal bathrooms and kitchen. I wont answer the door for no one believe me. I will have my own bedding

Is there a grocery or walmart close to here? Within reasonable walking distance?

If you walk out the front door of the terminal and look to your right, once you get to the end of the property (few hundred yards) there's a cross street. There's a grocery store right across that street. And a Walgreens or CVS (i forget which one) across the street to the left. Walmart is a little farther, but they run a shuttle to there every night. Just ask the guy at the desk what time the next one is and he'll let you know, then just be there waiting.
