hmmm..i will be looking for updates frpm spme of your efforts and endeavours. they are on my list of possibles, but am looking far and wide, lol.

Truckfam (i think) the difference in the maint. fund that you pay on the lease and one you have for yourself is that anything not used, you would keep if it were your own managed account. .12 a mile adds up and whatever is left over is not refunded. I know a l/o trainer and said he puts 200k on the truck--thats 24k minus repairs and they keep whats left. He said if he had to do it again, he would buy his own truck and manage his own rpr fund.

Even knowing that, I have talked with different Malone drivers and have heard good reports and bad. One fellow said he made 1300-1800 a week takehome. Another driver was complaining that they (CRST) wouldn't pay for him to put 20 gallons of fuel in his truck ( I personally thought this guy was bad in business), and that the truck they had leased to him had "salvaged" on the title and that he had a lawyer for that issue...just different things I have heard from Malone drivers. At this point, I don't know what to believe about it. I have read this entire thread and called Malone with questions and talked with MJ. I am still crunching numbers and talking to Malone drivers to try to get a better, more clear picture.

I had to go to columbus oh for my truck which was not good because of fyda freightliner i felt they did not check the truck out well enough to say it was fixed and the hose on top the air compressor was split so i had to have a road service come fix a hose and put fuel in it cause the last guy left it empty but after that ordeal it seems to be fine crst was hard to get a hold of by putting u on hold forever or saying let me talk to so an so put other than that it went ok after truck fixed i went 2 middletown for trailer than back to rockport for eq. than deadheaded home for christmas i got paid mileage from columbus 2 middletown 2 rockport 2 home which was ok but because i was so low on fuel it took all of it so no money went into my pocket but bright side not out of pocket or owe crst an advance the only thing i see that can be a problem is giving u enough fuel advance 2 run on u can take 100 dollars a week for road money put it comes out of a fuel advance its not just put on your card so we will see how that works out i guess thats where u got to RUN SMART to the guys i was in class with merry christmas good luck and god bless has my crst adventure unfolds i will keep u all posted ps i will not disk with this one

well its a new year so far because of the holidays and not getting any long haul i went 100 in the hole but since there is nomore holidays for awhile lets see what happens they r right if want to make money use the load board it works and try to buy your fuel at ta and petros for your instant fuel savings it makes a difference so far since i have bought my fuel at those stops i dont seem to have a problem with not having enough fuel like some of the other guys r complaining about (the instant savings roll back on your card) and they r complaining about not getting good loads they say there dispatcher tells them what to do and it doesnt pay but the same guys when asked r you using the load board and picking freight the say no not really well that might be part of there problem i know one guy already quit since christmas orentation week and i know 1 or 2 more that r giving up and they didnt give the load board or the fuel savings a chance its a business try to treat it that way it will be tough till you learn the system just give it a chance but its not for everyone some guys still cant get rid of the company driver mentality u have to use the tools at your disposal oh buy the way ever time u unload they ask how many chains and straps u used or how many hours r on your log and who signed your bills they keep tab on what is going on y'all have a great year to my fellow crst flunkies keep trying i will keep u posted god bless

I'm back! been busy as of late. word to the wise to my fellow crst maloners... try not to go west of the mississippi. u won't be happy. a month in and I'm content. average net is 750 a week. considering the first week i didn't get shat. alabama to chicago is a good lane. watch your fuel mileage. i have a red century averaging 5.8. i think that's good seeing most of my loads are 47 and up. pissed right now because an a hole shipper closed ten minutes before i arrived. now I'm stuck n shreveport til monday waiting to pick up this load.

Just got off the phone with a recruiter concerning their lease program. She said my fixed expenses would be about $750-$850 per week, which would include; truck and trailer payment, tags, insurance and securment cost. Does that sound about right for you current l/o?

One thing I forgot to ask her was about tarp pay. Do you get 100% of the tarp pay or just a pat on the back?

so far its going good i'm not in the hole. Domino88 u dont pay for the trailer u rent it they add trap pay in sometimes. I got a gold truck it is averaging 5.5 a mile So far when i say truck is broke they send me to freightliner and fix it but the trick to not spending alot of time down call freightliner and sechule your truck in cause bruce or berry dont do that for you. As far as the fuel goes if you by at ta / petro you get that savings that go back on the fuel card and it really helps it adds up quickly i had 100 auccumalated on there in savings so i was able to get 100 more in fuel over the advance amount.well good luck to all the christmas oreintaion guys that r left and to the ones coming on. oh by the way on my way to texas lets see how that goes. god bless to all my fellow crst/maloner's till next time run smart

My husband worked for crst malone and they are a crappy company to work for. I found most of his loads for the three months he was there, and he brought home little paychecks less than 500 a week. When he turned in his truck and equipment they tried to charge him almost 2000.00 and he turned all his things in at the st.louis yard. for the last three weeks he was there he didnt even bring home a check and was unable to make the truck payments cause his loads sucked they keep the good ones for thier pick of the drivers and put the crappy ones on the load boards. He makes more money now logging than he did for them.

Yeah this is the Crst I knew as well. Trying to keep the god loads for the agent / buddies! And they tried to charge me for $2000. It's their M.O.. Sounds like a few agents are posting on here to try to decid e new drivers! Deffinetly not a company to even try out! But now with forums line this drivers can learn the truth about them! I earned more in my first week with Landstar than I did in a month with Malone Crst. And now with freight so scarce I'm sure they and there drivers are hurting real bad! Stay away from Crst!

I called a recruiter and she said that Malone guys were taking home an average of 8-12 hundred a week..Is that really the expectations? Is that really enough to cover risks involved? I run these numbers in my head and can't see making the jump for 800/wk. What's the real deal? I know it's winter and maybe the slow season..
