I haven't heard this one. Suing another company for hiring a driver under contract. LMAO That's a new one.

We're talking desperation here...that's all.

You will have to buy it. But, they CAN NOT force you to pay it all at once. They can try, that's all. Even if they sue YOU, a judge will set up an equitable payment schedule, based on your earnings. Just be sure to show up for the hearing, otherwise the judge will give them whatever they ask.

Let me help you with the math here.

Many GOOD companies will start you at .30 a mile with 3 months experience. (look around)

Calculate the difference in earnings to see if you could handle a $200 a month payment, with the raise you would be getting. Most likely, with any decent company you'll still bring home about 50% more per month...after making the payments.

If you can't make $900 a week (pre tax) minimum as an OTR driver. You are being screwed...pure and simple.

I'm with them now and me and my codriver are averaging less than 500 miles per day. Alot of sitting. You can run around the truck stops while you wait for loads.

Can we sort this out?

Folks, I'm new to the industry as I recently retired from EMS as a paramedic. I'm getting the impression that the over-whelming majority of we that are new to to driving are going to get screwed, regardless of the path or carrier taken.
I'm training at local Community College for under $1000K with the help of lottery money. My question is how, if at all, will not being obligated to fulfill a contract with a given carrier benefit me, if at all? What advice can anyone give me for finding a job that is not a nightmare starting out as a rookie driver?? Thanks, JJ

It's not completely getting screwed just hhhmmmmm getting used to benefit the companies first and getting pass it.
If you are already in a school they should have some info on co.'s out of your area that is a good place to start as well as this site.
Good luck and feel free to ask any questions you have, their are alot of experienced people here glad to help.............

i think the people that go to learn to drive a truck with crst need to tell the hole story the poeple that are make .22cpm in the second month 350.00 a week the first month what they fail to tell is crst paid 3000 to 5000 for there school then on top of that they paid for the hotel they stayed in for 3 to 5 weeks that is not free that is why they are only making
month
1 350.00
2-3 .22cpm
4-6 .24cpm
7-12 .33cpm
all miles are split if u are runnung team 5500 miles a week 2750
u have to prove u are a good team if u jump from codriver to codriver then u are not going to prove u are a good team plus there are drivers that will not get there hazmat that will keep u from getting loads crst hauls a lot of hazmat
they rate the teams
5 speed lead wit new student first week
4 speed new team just out of training
3 speed can,t remember
2 speed good running team but no hazmat
1 speed top teams with hazmat
every dispatcher rates there teams and will tell u what u are and if u are not were u think your team shoud be ask the biggest reason people don't make money is there own problems not picking up on time delivery on time yes there are problems that come up but it is your job to let them know by talking to dispatch
plus u hhave to remember these are tough times freight is not like it was 2 or 3 years ago and only the strong will make it crst is a strong co. no debt that is why u see a lot ot companys closing big debt those trucks u see running 75 80 mph will not make it with fuel prices the way they are why do u thing all of these companys are turning there trucks speed down crst can keep there's running at 65 because they have a good price on fuel the price u see is not what they pay i know i lease at truck and i track it in my statements

common sense please

im a crst driver. please dont believe this ####. SPLIT MILES. teams split the miles. if a team runs 7000 miles one week thats 3500 miles each driver at .22c amile each driver (1st month mind u). Solo drivers can only run bout 3500-3700 miles a week .22c a freakin mile. I RAN INTO TWO DRIVERS FOR CRST CLAIMING THE SAME BULL. STOP LYING TO YOURSELVES AND USE COMMON SENSE. 2500MILES CUT IN HALF IS 1250 MILES FOR EACH DRIVER PAID AT .22 C A MILE. think bout this what if you made .33c a mile and your co is making .22c, is he still getting .11c? Dummies.
