CRST I'm a student... Ive been reading this quite a while and i only see so many negatives about this company I don't know how they survive with the economy like this. I'm in my training at Advance school of driving in Fontana, CA and after the I pass if I pass I will be heading to CRST at Fontana, CA. I feel im in for alot of fighting with CRST at this point i don't know what to do. I don't want to get charged for not getting anywhere. Any help out there?

Forget all u hear. forget on time. BE EARLY TO PICK UPS AND EARLY TO DROPS. dont be a truck stop serpent. BE A RUNNER and you will make money. ONLY ONE PROBLEM THO..... u and your co driver have to be on the same wavelength. it could take up to 5 codrivers to find your match. STICK WITH THE COMPANY dont complain and u will be taken care of. MEET YOUR DISPATCHER IN PERSON. some dispatchers r dicks but not all. AFTER ONE MONTH OF FOLLOWING THIS PLAN EVEN WITHOUT HAZMAT, U R IN THE DOOR. ONLY THING LEFT TO WORRY ABOUT IS WEEKEND DISPATCH. if you and your regular dispatcher r a good team then he or she will set u up thru the weekend so u wont have to worry bout the WEEKEND WARRIORS (DISPATCH)

i have to agree with u djsmoe25 the post that are on here are the ones that do not pickup and deliver ontime i am an lease operator and if i don't do my job then i will not get loads just that simple if i ran a co. and had drivers that can not pickup/deliver ontime yea there going to be on the bottom of the list don't beleave everything u read and only half u hear
i have never driven a truck before 4 years ago went to crst school and have never looked back just remember the people out there that are junpimg from co.to co. in times like this will have problems down the road it is best to try to stay with one co. i am not saying crst is the best if u find the perfect yes perfect!!! u let me know
yes it will be tough at first no job starts u at the top of wage pay
as for a co driver spend an hour or two with them talk don't just say hi on the phone i need a codriver that does not work find out if they are out there to make money or to sit at the truck stops ,casinos, ect. if u and your co driver do not comuncate u will not get along help each other find what works for one another driving times ,hometime, clean truck, and u will get the miles now i me i get paid by the job so miles don't count in my book but when i was a co. driver my co driver(wife) and i ran 5500 to 6500 miles a week and have even ran 7000 in a week there are dedicated runs out of calf. to east coast and back ask that is the only way u can find them if u can find one sometimes they will jump your pay up because they pay different
crst has a large contract with conway 14+ million miles a year get the hazmat run hard and get on conway dedicated all drop and hook
crst has no debt that is good in times like this companys that have a lot of debt will have problems down the road

BE On-Time, Be Available, and be Safe. The people you see complaining are probably
1. Lazy
2. Late
3. STUDENTS

IF you push yourself and PROVE yourself, you WILL make money. I wouldn't have stayed here for as long as I have if I didn't make money. I started as a student with CRST, now I'm a solo driver, home every day, work 4 nights a week and get paid a weekly salary.

When you get that experience, don't be afraid to ASK for something better. I didn't get the best run in the company by waiting till somebody GAVE it to me. I worked hard and delivered on time every time. I asked for a dedicated run, and went through 4 of them each one better than the one before until i saw the door was slightly ajar on this one, then I kicked it in. You can't be passive aggressive in and business and hope to succeed.

I don't think I've ever heard anybody say "wow I'm fresh out of training. And boy howdy I don't ggave a single complaint". Hell I thought I was in boot camp for the first 3 months. Well guess what? General Patton started as a private. Crst might not be the company for you, but don't go in with any expectations and you won't be let down

I have just graduated from Roadmaster Drivers School, in Jacksonville Fl. I have decided to go with CRST for training and the re-embursment. I know that the pay will be low for now, but as the saying goes "you have to start somewhere". This an opertunity to have more open doors in the future reguardless of what I have read in this forum. Even the professionals had to start somewhere. At my age, time goes prety fast anyway, and in 8 months time I will have more options. Just my .02!
