Anyone had any personal experience with CRST. I've been approved to start training with them, but haven't accepted yet. I need to go with a company sponsored training program, for lack of funds and I don't want to get an outside loan. I realize I'll be signing a contract, and I don't have a problem with that. I just want to get some experience under my belt, and if I don't like the company at the end of my contract, hopefully, I'll be in a position to find other companies who will hire me. How is their training program? Appreciate any advice.
CRST-any thoughts ???

Have you tried the search feature at the top of the page yet? I'm pretty sure there are some threads about CRST. We have most of the companies out there covered. Mostly companies with 100 or more trucks.

But, have you considered Millis? I think they have a terminal in Trenton Ohio. They have a training program that costs $500. up front and then you work for them for a year. If you do a search you will find that Millis is pretty well thought of and CRST is not so much.
But either way you will have to train with someone. Good luck in your excellent adventure.Baack Thanks this. -
On my last job, I worked a local P & D gig. Because of this, I was on the dock a bit. CRST was in our facility several times a week. Most of the folks that came in were a training team.
If ANYONE talked to me the way those trainers talked to their students they would be picking their teeth up off the ground. And those trainers had no room to rag on anybody. Biggest bunch of idiots I ever had to deal with. -
WOW! i was thinking about going with CRST; but after that and its teams only forget it i think ill keep looking -
i was also thinking about them but after i pondered the team with a total stranger i have changed my mind. look into Prime inc, Central ref., and i know there are others but those are just a few. i got accepted into millis but you have to have you permit before you start and time is not permiting me that and also the wait is 2 months

Hey guys, don't get me wrong. Team driving can be OK. It can even be much better than solo. But it has to be with the right people. I have driven team and been both happy, and miserable. Depended on co-driver.
What I'm speaking of with CRST though is not so much team, as it is driver trainer/trainee. I don't know why, but the trainers that I have seen have treated their trainees like they were dirt under their feet. That just isn't something that anyone should have to put up with. -
I'm going to start my orientation with CRST on May 04, 2009. Anyone have any advice.
How much money I'm expecting after my 28 days period. A week, stimated.
When you get your time off, they drop you any where or on your state yard, so you can get your car. -
Juan ur question has been answered numerous times, why do you keep posting it? Also, there are good and bad trainers just like there's good n bad students.

I have been driving for them for about 8 months. Although I paid my own way thru school for cdl at home. I have spoke to many who went thru their school. Yes they will get you your cdl but you will be making pennies and driving the wheels off the truck for the first few months as soon as your contract is up you will get a pay increase and miles decrease from what I am told. Good Luck with the new career but I would suggest you think long and hard about joining right now we sit alot and get very little for doing it.
