True, but I never had any problems getting the few minor problems I had fixed. The terminal in Carlisle is by far the best one.

I hear a lot of people on here bad mouthing not only CRST but quite a few of the companies that are nationally recognized as some of the best companies in the U.S. Now it seems to me that the people that are running their mouth are the same ones I hear on the CB talking trash. They have been behind the wheel of a truck for about 30 seconds and think they know everything. Now every company out here is going to have its problems, and things that you aren't going to like, but at the same time if you were to voice your concerns with your dispatcher. Make sure you did everything you could to make the best out of it, then maybe, just maybe you might make some money out here. Now about CRST. Yes there are some issues with maintenance, but instead of screaming at the shop foreman to make sure it is fixed right go over their head and if nothing else check your trucks out before you drive them to help prevent some of the lengthy shop visits. CRST runs Freightliner Century class right now. They trade them out every three years. The only reason that you will get bad equipment with the company is if you get attitude or don't pay attention to your truck. Dispatch is good in my opinion, with the exception of weekend and some of the third shift dispatchers, which is why once again, I do not deal with them if there is a serious issue that they can't resolve, and that can't wait. I just get ahold of their boss. As far as miles go I get without even trying 5500 a week. If I get a good trainee on the truck that can run, my dispatcher will give me 7000+ miles a week. When I had a steady co-driver I got no less than 6500 every week for an overall paycheck of 1250 a week. Like I said they are not the best probablly but they are not the worst. Like every company if you have poor customer service i.e. late all the time, never available, unsafe, rude to customer, then they will not give you the miles. The choice is yours. Now I will say, if you do not have someone you are going in with, it can be a pain to find a co-driver. Just a chance you have to take with a team operation. Now I appologize for the long post, but I am tired of people complaining and giving misinformation out just because they didn't do their job and the company did what any company will do. Now if you do have the company pay for your school, you will have to sign a contract. Like it or not, you will have to, right now it is 8 months and the first 6 months of employment the pay isn't that great. Just make sure you read everything, and ask questions if you don't understand. Alot of people get mad because they just didn't know and now they are stuck. I myself am heading back out to put in anoth 24000 miles this month I'll catch you on the flip flop I go by Big Tex on the CB I'm Gone.
Big Tex. i will be going to Cedar Rapids on Saturday for a refresher course. I then will start out with a trainer. I want to work hard and make some good money. Will that be possible? Also, in January, I m going to apply to become a lead driver; since I am female, I may have a good shot.

Thanks,

Thanks,

You will have to wait until April or May to become a lead, you have to have 1 winter of driving before becoming a lead. Read everything carefully, CRST tells you exactly how it works and what pay to expect. Remember you may not make the projected money every week. But the average will be there. Most students do not manage their money correctly and have difficulties. You will likely have to be out with the trainer 28 days or so, its trucking and not an exact schedule. Besides does it really matter? Team driving is team driving.

i have work CRST for one month....and they SUCK.....fist of all the dispatcher i had KIM MERTA was a B..... she wouls always pay us less miles then the said on the qualcomm...one time we were shorted 400 miles on a 1236 mile run....second i was off the road for 3 years and so they told me i had to do a refresher course that would cost me $250.00 to pay to the school the day i started. i lived only 40 miles from the school and drove thier every day. they charged me another $250.00 for the school and $350.00 for 2 weeks in a motel that i never stayed at...i complained about both charges and they said i never paid the school and that they have my signaature on the hotel form i told them i have the cashiers check that was cashed by the school and ask for proof of my signature on the hotel bill i still have not received none of the money back nor can i get ahold of anyone who i was talking to about this anymore....3rd we broke down in colorado and was down for 9 days according to there policy we were to get paid $40.00 a day for every 24hrs from the time we broke down...never paid....and finaly i had my home time set for 9/02/09 so that i could be home for my sons operation....they gave us a load on 08/31/09 from texas to california to get us home. in new mexico kim told us to stop and relay the load to another driver and gave us his load to chicago ...we reponded by qualcomm reminding them of the obligation i had and her answer was basicly it suck to be u and i don't care. so to make a long story short i did not get home tell 09/23/09. the company says that dispatch is there to support the drivers needs and questions but in reallity they are not...each dispatcher gets paid a commission as well as a $3200.00 a month salary...also gets bonuses on how much money they can save by shorting drivers on miles and reemberssments....oh by the way the breakdown time we had to stay in a motel for 9 days and they did not reembursed for that to the bill to me and my lead was $900.00.....p.s. sorry about the spelling

please clarify what do you mean your lead was 900 p.s. I don't understand....

How did you pay the hotel bill if you didn't go to the hotel....

If you had so much trouble in the refresher course Why did you get in a truck?

Isn't there somone else besides the dispatcher you can communicate with? Sorry for so many questions but I am very new at this trucking business!!!!

You will probally have to take a refresher or go through the school for whole CDL training. BE prepared. They tell you they provide you with housing and a bus ticket, YOU WILL HAVE to pay it back.
I paid $500 for the refresher 1/2 up front, so I thought that was all I was going to have to pay back. I having to pay back bus ticket, motel and drug and physical. So right now, I owe CRST $687.00

The only problem with this, I could have flown for about $50 dollars more. Bus ride was awful 25 hours from ATL to Cedar Rapids. Plane would have been bout 7 hours with 2 stops and transfers.

Have a good day
