Yea I'm looking to team drive with them after getting my CDL at one of their schools ( i will be paying tution up front so I won't be signing a contract). I've noticed that most of the complaints are about CRST are about no home time bad team drivers and trainers and the 8 month contract that seems to screw up everyone who signs. Well me I'll be trained by someone I know, who i'll soon after team with also as I said before i'm paying for school up front and will not need home time, so are there any other problems that I should look out for?

Still going with CRST ANYWAY

Hi ALL
Ive decided to go with CRST anyhow. Ive made the committment the ladies Im working with are fantastic and Ive voiced every concern with them and they are very willing to help me every step of the way .. Ive no idea who my trainer will be or my team driver but IM excited and hope it will be a good experience for me ....Im very positive and highly motivated and will just hope I get a good team driver and good trainer !!! Since Im a female Im sure I wont get a woman trainer( there seems to be a shortage of them) but I hope the guy is decent and patient since Ive never driven before

Think Twice Before Goinging With CRST

During my second week of CDL training I contacted CRST. Being new and everything teaming sounded like the place to make the money and I am sure it still is. The recruttier sounded promising and had all the right answers so I told him I was in. He was to conatct me after graduation and set me up to go to ceder rapids. We had a 1 week break over xmas while the school shut down and I spen that time researching CRST. Here is what I found out.
They only pay on comdatta cards. It is up to you to find a way and pay to get money sent home to the family.

Their equipment is crap. And they want you to drive it that way. So a lot of time is spent broke down or sitting in a repair facility not making any money

Their training period of 6 weeks sucks. the trainer is in the jump seat the first week and after that you start actualy running as a team while you are making slave wages hauling heir loads. Your trainer is sleeping his ten off while you are driving so how in the #### is he doing any training. And trainers are averaging only 6 to 8 months experience OTR. The blinde leading the blinde. CRST had several serious wrecks (i think 5) in the latter part of last year killing drivers and they were all trainers with new hires.

They state the average load is 1700 miles. That may be so for the trailer but it is not uncommon to get a long haul only to be called to drop it half way so another driver can pick it up and you wait for several days for your next load.

As far as them placing you with a co driver. Will that in itself can be a nightmear. He may be a homeless man from the local shelter that is feeling good to bath once a week and that is if he can borrow 5 bucks from you for a shower.

The list goes on and on. This site has a info on CRST and please read up on it before going with them.

I amm sure there are drivers that like CRST but I dont think it is a good start for a new person without a teaming buddy to start out with.

I have never talked to anyone that I can remember that had anything good to say about them. On the van side anyway.

Me and my girlfriend are in school for crst right now. Very exciting, we cannot wait to get on the road. I am not real worried, but we will be keeping very good records of where we run.

hi,I think u should try crst.I have been with this company for 10 yrs.Its a good company to work for if you, want to run and get some miles.I am a trainer and my student with me right now has 1week.she's happy so far .I have had alot of people who are happy with this company.the biggest thing with this company,is it is a team operation. You need to have u a co=driver lined up when u come here. That will save you some time and trouble.I would not go with any company out here.I have found out driver who put this company down, are the ones who don't want to work and are very lazy..I would not be here foe 10yrs if it was a bad company.I started out as a student here to. littlebit2007
