Do Not Join, If You Have Experiance ---- Do Not Go To Crst, If It Isnt One Thing, Its Another--- And Always Not Good......
If You Dont Get A Crappy Truck, You Play The Bouncing With A Co-driver Game
They Dont Pay All Your Miles, And Give You A Hard Time Trying To Get The Pc Of Crap Truck Fixed......... And No Matter What....... Do Not Sign The Contract.. If You Do Go To Them, Refuse To Sign The Contract, This Way You Have An Out........................................ Be Warned To All

Re: crst/van expedited?

i would reccomend against CRST unless your going to Team with your wife or someone you know... I reccomend that you look into other companies compair b/c crst does have problems with pay and "forgetting things" When i made the Switch from CRST to USXpress i had a hard time deciding between USX and CRST Premier,... they both had good programs cant remember my reason for usx but thats who i chose...
o ya the pay its like 32cpm depending on experience and me with only 8 mths would start there with a .005cpm raise every 60k miles at CRST Premier..

Also if you need to go out with a Trainer it will be 4 Weeks with CRST, and at usx it will be 3weeks just to throw that out there...
I can remember training at CRST the guy treated me like a Co Driver didnt get to back in to docks very much never allowed to back the truck into a parking space...
At usx when they wanted me to be a trainer... the Biggest rule is your not allowed to Drive the truck (why i turned it down b/c my paycheck would depend on the trainee) and the only allow trainers arround 2200mi per week to prevent that and insure the student gets trained.. also the training is 3 weeks but it doesnt go by weeks it goes by hours and if you dont have enough drive hours behind the wheel you cant upgrade from student status...your also required to take a Written test when u finish training as well as going out with someone from the training dept drive arround town a few minutes and back into a space at the terminal.. if you cant do that correctly you go back out with the same trainer or a different one if you so choose...

Re: crst/van expedited?

I wouldnt do it if i was you. Me and my wife went to CRST got our training got into our own truck well i should say trucks sense in the 6 months we were there we had 6 of them they were so bad. We left them, and when we did we left the truck and trailer at there yard in OKC and told them we were done and we were going home, but sense we didnt tell our day dispatcher they put aband of load on both our dac reports. So if you are going there be carefull they will screw you any way they can. It took 2 months and me wanting to leave and get a bus from Salt Lake City or just ride with my wife till we got home, just to get brakedown pay we were owed. So I would go else were.

Re: crst/van expedited?

Good Grief, I'm happy at CRST. I Talk to guys all the time with 10 yrs., 5 yrs, etc. that are happy. Don't sign a contract though, EVER. Not with ANYONE. This just gives them the legal right to stick it to you. But it sounds like you've already made your decision. But I team with my best buddy, if I had to team with some dud I didn't know I might not be happy. Just some food for thought.

Re: crst/van expedited?

I know a few people with crst and they hate the company. they have pretty bad equipment, maintainance is a joke, and they always undercut the miles, sometimes by several hundred a trip. If you don't have a decent co-driver ahead of time, good luck. They pair you with any shmoe they can find, and usually it's someone who can't drive or was homeless before going to crst. Trying to live and sleep in a truck that's running 24/7 is an impossibility. I know one driver who was in Ohio when he woke up and his co-driver was half drunk, and still drinking, while running a load! He called the company, and they told him to get a hotel room! AT HIS EXPENSE! crst waited for the co-driver to sober up, and gave HIM the truck! My friend had to play the 'catch a ride' game to get home, and wait 2 weeks for crst to find him another driver. The drunk guy? Never missed a paycheck, still drives for crst, and still drinks while driving! When I see a crst truck, I give them as much room as possible. I never know if the driver is sober or not.

Re: crst/van expedited?

You know I won't say that CRST is the best company out there, but I have been with them for 9 months now, and as far as trucking companies go they aint half bad. I hear a lot of people on here bad mouthing not only CRST but quite a few of the companies that are nationally recognized as some of the best companies in the U.S. Now it seems to me that the people that are running their mouth are the same ones I hear on the CB talking trash. They have been behind the wheel of a truck for about 30 seconds and think they know everything. Now every company out here is going to have its problems, and things that you aren't going to like, but at the same time if you were to voice your concerns with your dispatcher. Make sure you did everything you could to make the best out of it, then maybe, just maybe you might make some money out here. Now about CRST. Yes there are some issues with maintenance, but instead of screaming at the shop foreman to make sure it is fixed right go over their head and if nothing else check your trucks out before you drive them to help prevent some of the lengthy shop visits. CRST runs Freightliner Century class right now. They trade them out every three years. The only reason that you will get bad equipment with the company is if you get attitude or don't pay attention to your truck. Dispatch is good in my opinion, with the exception of weekend and some of the third shift dispatchers, which is why once again, I do not deal with them if there is a serious issue that they can't resolve, and that can't wait. I just get ahold of their boss. As far as miles go I get without even trying 5500 a week. If I get a good trainee on the truck that can run, my dispatcher will give me 7000+ miles a week. When I had a steady co-driver I got no less than 6500 every week for an overall paycheck of 1250 a week. Like I said they are not the best probablly but they are not the worst. Like every company if you have poor customer service i.e. late all the time, never available, unsafe, rude to customer, then they will not give you the miles. The choice is yours. Now I will say, if you do not have someone you are going in with, it can be a pain to find a co-driver. Just a chance you have to take with a team operation. Now I appologize for the long post, but I am tired of people complaining and giving misinformation out just because they didn't do their job and the company did what any company will do. Now if you do have the company pay for your school, you will have to sign a contract. Like it or not, you will have to, right now it is 8 months and the first 6 months of employment the pay isn't that great. Just make sure you read everything, and ask questions if you don't understand. Alot of people get mad because they just didn't know and now they are stuck. I myself am heading back out to put in anoth 24000 miles this month I'll catch you on the flip flop I go by Big Tex on the CB I'm Gone.
