Talked to recruiter yesterday to confirm plans for refresher the 26th. I was told things had recently changed. Originally, I was told (a different recruiter) that I would go to CR for 1 week refresher, got to OKC for 4 day orientation, go out with trainer 28 days, and then go home before going out with co-driver. Now, I am told that I will go to CR for week refresher, 1 day orientation, go with trainer 28 days, back to CR for 3 days orientation, go with co- driver 4 weeks, then go home for 3 or 4 days. That would be almost 3 months out before going home. Is that what everyone else is doing?

As much as I am wanting to drive, I am considering waiting until after Christmas.

Well; look at the bright side. If you go with crst you will be used to the home time policy...

I guess they want to break me in right, huh. I was prepared for 3-4 weeks out, maybe even 6. Not so sure about 3 months.

Sounds a little extreme to me also. I would have to give it some serious thought, unless there were absolutely no other options available.
Seems to me, many of these companies are taking advantadge of the current job situation.
I bet they would be getting new drivers on the road much quicker if the situation were reversed.

Definitely going to do some thinking on this one. I could wait until after Christmas and see if the rules change again. Only other option right now is CRE. But then again that could change in the future too.

I have spoke with a lot of crst drivers that are stuck out on the road for months at a time. About a year or so ago ( I posted about a crst team that walked up to me in circleville OH at the pilot) Or at least one of them did. He was asking me about flats because he was going to melton when he got home. Had been out for months trying to get home. They had given them a load going back up to the N/E when they was suppose to be going south for hometime. They refused to go back up there and was told to sit there for punishment. I think the one was ready to bail from that truck stop. You will find very little good info about them when you talk to their drivers or at least that is what I am always hearing from them. Equipment is junk, bad hometime and lied to a lot is what I am always told. I have only known 1 driver that was content there and that was back in the 80's when they had COE's

I knew that driver. He was not right to begin with...

You are welcome! I just hate to see someone make bad choices that may effect them. Many bail from trucking before they ever have a chance. Some of that is on the driver, but a lot of it is things that a co does that hangs you out on a limb. If you have other options I would research them well and make a informed decision. If not and you go this route just keep in mind that this may be an up hill battle. If you go in prepared it might help a little bit. Good luck!
