Keep us posted on how it goes.... I was supposed to report to orientation on 10-5 but CRST called it off until 10-19 because all the trucks are full and no trainers are left.

So I am patiently waiting to report.....

I understood CRST is now a total team company, so do you all have a team mates or are you allowing the compnay to match you up when you graduate?

If I get hired (still waiting for the word), I want to get into the 20/10 program. I don't have a team mate, so I will have to be matched up by the company. I can get along with most anyone, I think, LOL.

If you could, press the thanks button, so I can get credit for advising you.

Thanks,

I found a lady from GA who is taking training as well. She and myself are suppose to team together. After my 3 to 9 months, I plan to go with another company, so I can ride solo.

Be prepared; they make you write more stuff on your logs then what DOT requires. For example, when you go to the bathroom, you have to log it.

You will want to talk to everyone who is leaving close to you; do not take the first person. Treat it like an interview. Try to have a lot in common. Remember, you will be sharing a small space with one person for days.

I am going to try the 20/10 plan as well.

Good luck to you. I was suppose to be gone with my trainer yesterday, but I am still in Cedar Rapids.

Im making no money and it sucks. I hope and pray I get going today. A guy, who was in my refresher course, left last night. I shifted better than he did, so go figure.

I just found out today what I will be making after I've completed my 28 days, and I am very disappointed. I will make 22cpm. I was told by my recruiter that it would be 24cpm since I have experience driving doubles.

Driving doubles takes more skill than driving one long trailer, but they are only giving 1/2 credit for the time I spent driving, which makes me mad. As a result, I am going to have to be poor to get my experience. Other than that, the orientation training has been good. I am still waiting on a trainer, so I will be going back to the motel tonight.

Ive been staying at the Howard Johnsons. Nice motel. They have a fridge and micro in the room.

Be prepared to pay everything back. Just read my previous entries. I am having to refresh my recruiter's memory. I was told from her that I was to get 24cpm and they are wanting me to take 22cpm. in other words, they do not want to give me credit for driving for fed ex. driving doubles takes more skill and more physical labor.

I plan on staying for 3 months, then I will have 6 months otr and i'm going somewhere else.

Hope this helps.
