and Judith1962 don't take what I said the wrong way I am positive that your trust will grow in yourself over time the more miles u run
I don't think she will take it the wrong way and i was not meaning any harm there myself. I trust myself but am sure I will have a lot of self doubt. As I am my biggest critic My first time straight line backing I had to pull up twice after the second pull up I kicked myself re adjusted the mirrors and nailed my next 5 attempts on the first try. Moneymaker as a trainer I'm sure you have seen some real interesting things, but i hear a lot of company's have problems keeping trainer's It's got to be rough getting a new driver every 3o day's dont know if i could do it guess time will tell.

My thought about coming into trucking now is so i can get some experience with snow and ice early as opposed to waiting until summer and driving 6-8 months building confidence only to hit winter and risk being over confident is my train of thought wrong on this?

I don't mind training and the reason being is I remember when I first started out had two trainers the first was a jerk power trip I guess the second was good learned a lot but he was a slob every time he got out of the truck I would start cleaning
that being said my truck is very clean I put carpet in it larger refrigerator microwave hate truck stop food I have this for I teach students not to eat a truck stops they will suck u dry and for a student that is one of the biggest problems they get so far in the hole eating fast food yea couple times a week I will stop
and eat but not at a truck stop and I will by my student dinner to because I remember how tough it was when I was starting out
When did u start and what school did u go to?
Next question is the big one your thoughts on Crst and I don't mean they suck or stuff like that start with the good and then any problems u have come across
last who is your fleet manager?

Money maker if you smoke i want you for a trainer! I started at C-1 in Indianapolis with USA a week into it I got a call saying my application for employment had been denied no other reason given. The main reason i went there first was it's 45 minutes from my house. I don't see the need to spend 4k up front to go to school when i can get the same training for a 8-12 month contract. I stopped by a couple of truck stops on the way home talked to different drivers picked up a couple of Ad Rags got home checked different fourms applied to CR England training due here in Indiana plus I have family 20 minute from there school. Prime and CRST ( CRST i choose based on information from driver's at the the truck stop) I re start at CRST this Monday the 19th 2-3 weeks of driving school and then 28 days out with a trainer. I take what I read here with a grain of salt when people are trashing a company as i am only reading there side of the story. I have talked to at least 10 different CRST drivers and all pretty much said the same thing. If your safe on time and not a whiner you will do fine, the money will suck for the first year most seemed to be running 6-8 weeks between home time. Based on my time in ceder rapids I think they will be a good company. I dont know who will be my fleet manager yet. (can only hope I get a good one)

well just remember one thing the fleet manager works for you, if your not happy ask for a new one. My fleet manager was Bill McGuire. He knew we wanted to make money and we proved we could do it. Never had a load late unless it was a shipper error ect. Theres a new dispatcher that I almost got stuck with until Bill saved us hah. I heard bad things about the new one cause hes young and cocky.
