1) starts you off at driving from the terminal, and then after two hrs goes to sleep
2) when it comes to backing he wants you to do all the driving and him/her the backing, because they don't have time to waste watching you.
3) Sends you on your way or tells you to go and take a shower, so he can have a lot lizard for a hr or two.
4) Wants you to drive on his time, so he/she can get extra sleep.
5) doesn't know how to slide tandems or 5th wheel to adjust the load to meet regulations.
6) Never does a pre/post trip inspecton.
7) Never takes a shower, and his truck smells like ####.
If you don't get along right from the begining.

If anyone has anything to add or that I missed please feel free to add on..
the opposite of #4 the trainer has you log driving when in reality he does the driving. My first trainer did this I notified my training manager and was switched to a new trainer within a couple of days.

True I have heard the same stories from other new drivers many times, sad because it is people like this who give truck drivers a bad name..

Right on man, but there is a slight problem. You have to be 21 yrs old. Your age on here says 18. You might have to look elsewhere for a few years then attempt to tackle the all mighty swift challenge. Good luck!

He may be able to do intrastate instead of interstate by DOT standards. But I dont know about Swifts standards. He may only do local routes till 21

Most companies won't even look at you until age 23.
