Then you have the variable costs such as the .10 cpm maintenance fund (3000 miles x .10 cpm = $300.00 week).

    Then the fuel costs?
    setting aside taxes (13.2%)
workers comp (or the cheaper occupational insurance)?
    medical insurance?
    dental insurance?
setting aside money for down time such as vacations, sick time, etc.

Sorry, I dont see the advantage of leasing vs decent paying company gig.

Hey Kern, with the problems you seemed to have at your last company, I wonder if you would consider starting your own thread and let us follow your journey with Risinger, since it seems to be a better fit for you.

Ok Ok I'll Let You Do The Math.
Fuel Cost: Mine Is $0.59 Per Mile Right Now With 7% Out Of Route,

Taxes: I Set Back Only 10% Because I'd Rather Pay under than Over To the IRS, remenber the IRS Doesnt Pay You Interest on your money for extra you give them.

Workers Comp: IL, doesnt require you to have Workers Comp only Occ. Accident, which is cheaper than Workers Comp.

Medical and Dental: Well Thats Up To You, Risinger Will Get You Intouch With Places That Can Help you, but Call OOIDA For Health If Your a menber. I Have for me and my wife Blue Cross for health and Delta Dental For Dental about $350 a month or $88 A week Vers About $55 having a company plan for a big carrier.

I average $.40 a mile # 2600 miles after Health Insurance with IRS Being taken out. I dont run my truck at 75mph i run about 63 to 67 and average 6.3 MPG. Im not gonna tell you exactly how to do everything to get $0.40 a mile because thats where the business side of it comes in. You just got to rememeber business first driver second.

And if you look at it right in 22 months my truck is mine free and clear, im not looking at the right here picture im looking at the future. After my trucks paid for. I will make another $0.18 per mile, Thats $0.58 a mile getting 6.3 MPG., No Company Can Touch That Kind Of Money And Thats with my maintance taken out, you only need about $0.08 a mile for maintance, then save alot for repairs, engine rebuild or upgrades in a savings account thats away from your personal.

Summary. In about 2 years i'll have a truck that has 800,000 miles on it. Wont need a rebuild till about 1 million or alittle after thats where the savings account comes in. And I'll make $0.58 a mile averaging 2800 miles a week. 2800 miles x $0.58 Per Mile thats $1600 and thats on the low side in 7 days. :biggrin_2551::biggrin_2551: Thats 80 Grand A Year Not working More Than A Crete Or Schneider Driver. If I Would work 3100 A Week or 442 Miles A Day for 50 Weeks I'll make 90 Grand.

No Health Insurance, Because You Are A Owner Operator, OOIDA Has Great Rates, United Health Care And Blue Cross Are Also Very Good, Remenber Guys Yes You Dont Get Risinger To Pay For A Portion Like Being A Company Driver, But That $300 A Month You Pay You Can Deducted It 100% on your taxes Which means less money you pay to OBAMA. And more money in your pocket talk to a good CPA and they will tell you the same.
