I started at Risinger about a month ago. They do not have company drivers they only hire owner/operators and they do lease some trucks. I am leasing a 2007 Volvo 630 which costs me a little less than $500 a week including insurance. I love it so far. They pay 1.03 per mile plus fuel surcharge. So far I have averaged about 3300 miles a week and 75% of pickups and deliveries are drop and hooks. On average I pay about 30 cents less than pump price for fuel. They pay $200 per day for layover and $26 per hour for detention pay after 2 hrs at a customer. I have never had to wait for a load either I have been preplanned or got one right away when I sent in my empty call. Best job I have ever had!

Kind of a new thing. I knew a driver who was a company driver there about 3 years ago.

They also pay all tolls and even pay for scale tickets. Have EZ Pass and Prepass to bypass scales at no cost to the driver. Only thing I have not made up my mind about is they charge .10 per mile for all maintenance so I pay nothing for repairs or tires, oil, coolant, wipers, oil changes, towing or anything maintenance related and I even get 1 free truck wash per month at Blue Beacon included in that.

uhmmm, something doesn"t smell right. I could swear they have company drivers. $500 A MONTH for an '07 Volvo? I have my doubts. Unless it's a lease with a ballon payment. But hey, I could be wrong.

I went to their website. They do not have any info on company drivers.
I checked one of the truck driver application sites and they do not reflect company driver info either.

I apologize for being wrong on the o/o vs company driver statement.

Was a shock to me as well. I never thought they got rid of them.

My lease payment is 390.00 and then with insurance it ends up being 493.00 total for fixed expenses. There is no balloon payment because I will never own it. It is basically a rental. Call a recruiter they will confirm everything I said.

493 a week. Ok did not realize I put month earlier so now I see why he found it hard to believe. Yeah if it was per month that would make it unbelieveable.
