Nope not E-logs they would lose to many drivers since its an O\O company and they would just leave!

Yep I totally agree make em wait at the grocery store in line for 5hrs and then tell ####te you just used all your clock now your gonna have to sit out in your minivan for 10hrs!:biggrin_2559:

didn't you guys say that the govt wants EVERYONE electronic?

sorry pan. i've been busy running MY ### OFF. 3500 miles. 5 runs. and i don't have this thread bookmarked on my new laptop yet. only spent 5 minutes on the internet and that was facebook.

i've been sleeping for 2 hours and driving for 24 hours. we all need to get together for dinner somewhere so you's all can teach me this FUDGING thing.

so, i tried the copilot gps on my phone. there was an update before i left. it no longer speaks so it didn't get used. tried this navigon on my phone. never had a problem with that program. but now that i've hit the road. that thing decided to either reboot my phone or just flat out quit connectiong with the gps module. tried the google nav thing. it decided to do the same thing. started playing around with mapquest. but it just wasn't calling my name. so then i tried this osmand program. it must have been designed in europe. doesn't have american settings.

the only program that DIDN'T have a problem was the sprint navigation. as long as it had a signal.

so, i'm roaming around the peelot. looking at the gps. bought the rand mcnally. it had on duty loggers. between that and the messy logs. i'm going to post in my logger computer software so i can print some nice and readable logs for next weeks run.

packing a printer too. coulda used it for arizona dot.

one guy in the company doesn't want me to use my computer though. cuz he thinks everyone will be forced to do computer. but i'm a technology man. and i've got more important things to do then spend all my off duty time fudging teh longs. reading the maps. and planning my trip. off duty time don't amount to much and i'd rather be sleeping.

on another note. when did all the truckers get UGLY and rude?
the next kid that don't like my backing is going to get his teeth knocked out.

i'll back the way i've always done it. and i'll be leaving with all my paint in tact.

first load went from plymouth, ut to kingman, az. billets. then kingman to salt lake city. coils. back up to plymouth for kingman. billets. then needles, ca to tucson. RR ties. then maricopa to salt lake city. fertilizer for home depot. and back up to plymouth where i HAD TO WAIT FOR MY APPT. to get my load so i could come home. 60 foot rebar going to vegas on monday.

they had a pile 5 miles high. why do i have to wait to finish my week.

looks like all there hauls are closed on weekends. so all the trucks come home.

i need to find a generator and a/c. it's too GOD ###### HOT TO SLEEP IN CALI AND ARIZONA. and summer hasn't hit yet.

skunks have never been good at walking on all fours. you're going to have an even more difficult time on two.

try to keep the water to a maximum and the alcohol to a minimum.

The small company I'm working for is converting to e-logs because their insurance company is giving them a discount. I keep having to remind dispatch I'm not a one man team, and I have e-logs on my truck.

I lost a chance at a 4500 mile week because of this BS.

and yes, I talked to a landstar driver two days ago and they are going to E-Logs.

My opinion is once everyone goes to elogs by choice or mandate, the Just in time shipping model will be out the window. Companies will have to start stockpiling products again so they don't run out just because a truck can't make it in 11 hours.

With that said, I am going to have to use a few "tricks" on this load I have now.

Looks like there will a lot of loads on the Landstar board when that happens, I would be willing to bet that a lot will just get there own Authority and run from Boards and pay a factoring service to make sure you get paid!!!

Snowwy you have been a busy lil beaver lol, and yeah the younguns just get ruder and ruder!

they do short hauls. west side. 5 loads a week. truck has to make at least 4g to turn a profit. trucks are home on weekends for repairs. and there customer base isn't open on weekends.

from what i've seen. all our hauls are normal business hours. and the only appts i've had are two that the boss made. cuz it was pretty apparent i could have arrived any time i wanted. only one of my stops required 24 hour notice. i was there at open and showed them the text on my phone that said noon but try to be early. course. i didn't get loaded and ticket received untill 5 minutes after the deliver too was closed.

all our dispatches are with text. and are dispatched before unloading.
we tell him where we are in the morning. he dispatches the next load. then we tell him MT. and that's it.

does dot accept log printouts? i see different threads on this sight. some people claim to just open there laptop while others say dot just wants to see a signed copy.

if i get checked. i want to be as sweet and quick as possible and be on my merry way. apparently i can't do the 70 math as i've got more hours running everything on this software.
