NFI also owns the flatbed carrier that does those "PODS" deliveries. (storage units dropped at your house).

They are offering a 4,000 sign on bonus and guaranteed 900.00 a wk for the first 4 weeks (Nazareth PA) terminal. I worked here at their Trader Joes account for 7 months. All I can say is that they Lie about everything and whatever they do tell you is only a half truth.

Example- I went to their hotel seminar and was told .40cpm no touch freight, new equipment, dedicated runs (same place every wk) and home daily with choice of Sat or Sun off.

Lets just say that you will be paid .40cpm. The rest is BS.

I live in Vineland NJ, NFI is not that far away from me. They will rip-p-p-p-p you off and then plus some. When I was unemployed, even my unemployment agent told me: " try to stay away from NFI".

If you're gonna drive for NFI make sure its on a dedicated account. If you live in Jersey or especially eastern PA there are some good opportunities. Do not drive for the OTR division. Short hauls, no NYC pay (and you will see the city driving for them,) and shady dispatchers, especially the weekend guys. Also they run elogs. They are not a bad company overall but like I said just make sure you're hired in on a dedicated acct.

Spoke to them about doing the PODS dedicated out of Cherry Hill Nj. Said I would be our 2-3 nights a week, home the other nights, and 2 saturdays a month gotta work. They are supposed to be setting me up for interview. Anything anyone can tell me about this account, like the running area, which type of truck would I be assigned, etc.

National Freight was good for me. I worked OTR out of Illinois terminal. I got tons of miles, I never sat still, I never touched freight, if I needed a lumper, I could call and get a Comchek number within a few minutes. Try that at some large companies. NFI owns thousands of trailers, I did lots of drop and hook. I could go to a terminal and grab an empty trailer anytime, even if I wasn't under a load. They used to pre-plan me two, sometimes three loads ahead. Yes, I did more NYC than I would have liked, but I also did a lot of southeast, midwest and Texas. An occasional California. Later, I worked for NFI dedicated out of Bolingbrook,IL. I did a Bolingbrook to Grosse Pointe(Detroit) MI run four days a week. Sometimes five. I made $332 a day on that, I wish I still had it. I was treated well. Unfortunately I got fired. I had a real bad day. It was my fault, they had little choice. But, I would recommend them to anyone. NOW, I must say especially to you young guys, my home terminal was Channahon,IL. I WENT to all the other terminals, but I didn't WORK for all their terminals. Some terminals may be better than others as far as miles, money or whatever. I did like the way each terminal was somewhat independent, you dealt with just your terminal people. Except of course, nights and weekends. But normally you were already pre-planned beforehand anyway. If you deliver on time(or early) and don't whine you'll have no problems. Even on nights or weekends I never had much trouble with dispatch. But that was the good old days before they started making drivers match the Quallcomm with the paperlogs. Dedicated normally pays better. National Freight Industries is based in Vineland,NJ. (main terminal is Lawnside,NJ) National Freight Interactive Logistics (dedicated) is based in Cherry Hill, NJ. (terminals throughout the country) Sometimes, if you are a GOOD OTR driver they don't like to transfer you to a dedicated division. They want to keep you. So KNOW what specifically you are applying for before you sign on.

If i can figure out how to post a picture without it being supersized, it is a cool picture of the truck they sent my dad OTR in back in the early 80's... I will keep trying.
