I just can't believe National Freight doesn't get more mention on the good, solid trucking companies to work for thread...

They always manage to slip under the radar...
I no longer work for them...but wouldn't mind returning one day...

No, their not perfect...or I should say the people who work for them aren't...but they do follow a good business model and have diversified their bottom line...they own many of the warehouses you will deliver too...and have a contstruction arm of their company...

They have a very modern fleet of shiny trucks...and are decent at getting you home...

To me they are one of the best invisible companies out there...

They also have plenty of dedicated opportunities in Florida and the NE...

They are a finacially solid company...
To me, they are what Werner was back in 2000....

I would recomend this company...NFI...for drivers who want to average anywhere from 500-800 a week and do it in comfort and nice equiptment...
They do not train students however...you will have to have at least a year under your belt..unless they've changed policy since I left...

Than obviously you never worked for Werner back in 2000...

I mean think about it guy...why would I suggest a company if it weren't sound...

Stay away if you want...they are a solid enough company to survive with or without you...best of luck...

NFI is a well established company based out of Vineland, N.J. with terminals in Waxahatchie, Tx. and Corona, Ca. plus others I'm not aware of. I have seen them hauling Wal-Mart trailers in some areas. They are dry freight with Freightliners. I have not really heard anything bad about them.

For some reason...they always remain under the radar...I think their more of a word of mouth company...

They're buying power is strong...they just purchased hundreds of brand new trucks...and their in very little debt...

They are a solid company in my opinion...that most know very little about...

NFI has terminal in Orlando FL. They require 6 months more experience to join. They do run a lot of dedicated in FL. Ross, Lowes and Home Depot come to mind as well as Old Navy. Most of their trucks are Freightliner Columbia 56in Condos, Peterbilts 387s, Peterbilt 385's, Freightliner Cascadias all with tripac APU's.

NFI has a post burried in the bad trucking company thread about a driver they put out of the truck in Lee MA for refusing to work out of hours. there was like 25-50 more stories that convinced me is was a bad place to work. many old timers telling stories about the TN terminal and I have know these guys for a long time and doubt if they are telling lies. They not only got complaints here but also on the rip off report. The one here are much better than that crap over there but still many complaints about them.

Here is what Drivers I have know for years in this forum say about NFI
    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...6737-national-freight-inc-vineland-n-j-6.html

The company also settled a lawsuit out of court a couple years back for not paying correct wages to drivers in the NJ area. It's in those pages somewhere. I will say this about the company it Improved it's DOT score and safestat scores big time since the last time I looked.

Werner in any year after it got 500 trucks wasn't worth a crap to work for. I may have not been driving then but my family has been in trucking for 35 years and I have never heard or seen anything good from Werner. It's a training mill.

Werner, use to be a blast to work for...back in like 2001 and prior...freedom freedom freedom...they have changed alot since then though...from what I hear...

And as far as NFI...you won't go broke working for them...I worked for them...and wasn't hurting at all...but ye, some of their terminal personal are a bit 'stuck up'...

i was there out of nj terminal.
you need to speak to drivers before hand to find out who the good dispatchers are and ask to be assigned to them at orientation.
They can be fussy but dont break down out of route!!

The pay is the same to start across the board and have your paperwork straight or they can dock your pay in a heartbeat. I liked to scan and fax my bills etc because sometimes your logs can come up "lost" months after you scanned them.

The other thing that can be frustrating is that they like to use you as a local driver even though they pay you short haul (sliding scale) when they have local hourly guys too.

Its not bad bad but its something you just need to keep up on to make the job better for yourself. There is some room to wiggle around and ask for a change of dispatchers as longas you dont get vocal and burn your bridge with your current one.
