Ok, now I'm curious. I'm in CDL school and got pre-hired with Roehl which seems like a good company but this seems better. They say they hire recent grads but will they help me do the double's road skills test and let me work while the hazat background check to goes through? It doesn't make sense for a recent driver to be unemployed while that goes through.

What's their policy for passengers and pets? And if they allow "spouses" how do they define "spouses"?

Also, do you take trucks home with you? Should you live close to a terminal?

Thanks for information.

Some guy's do take the truck home.
i live close to the terminal so i don't. as for the rider policy i don't think they allow riders due to the fact that there would be no where for them to sleep since you wont have a sleeper in your truck. you'll spend most nights at the terminals and sometimes a hotel.
I would say call your closest terminal and ask for the details as i don't want to tell you wrong.

YOU WILL drive by the rules and YOU WILL complete and log the right way!! YOU WILL drive the speed limit or YOU WILL get your ********* chewed out!! but before you guy's jump on with ROEHL you should check out one awsome company that i drive for myself. OLD DOMINION FRIEGHT LINES. don't take my word for it. call and talk to them yourself. let's do the math. at ROEHL your start at 30 cents per mile and in 1 year you will make 36 cent per mile. at OLD DOMINION as a student driver you will start at 33 cents per mile. in 6 months you will make 42 cents per mile!!! at ROEHL you will sleep in your truck every night. at OD you won't even know what a sleeper looks like because you won't have one in your truck. you will sleep in a HOTEL EVERY NIGHT!! at ROEHL you will try to find bob's bakery in a back alley in los angelas. at OD you will know exactly where you are going because you will deliver terminal to terminal only!!! you guy's should really check OD out!!
Smurf.....

Thumbs up

If OD is offering you a definite job offer I would go with them over Interstate. You are not going to get nearly as many benis or make as much with any of the training co's. Ask IS how often they are going to pick up tab for hotels?
It would be worth the wait for me. Good Luck!

I would surely wait if at all possible.
but you have to do what is in your best interest.
maybe drive for 6 months and then come back to OD ?
As for the hotels they pay for ALL hotel expenses. you will stay in a hotel if all terminal rooms are full.

They are pretty much King of the road as far as non-union companies out there.
and unlike most OTR companies you can go local in a year if you like and get a pretty good hourly pay scale. I would say 1 HUGE advantage of going with OD is you
don't have to drive all over LA or NYC looking for some damn business nobody ever heard of. OD is Terminal to Terminal ONLY !

As for doubles or triples it's really not that much difference than driving a single trailer. you just can't back for more than a few feet so you drop and then back 1 at a time.
