If you had a year I would have several suggestions.
Not sure on 6 months though. I do not know many ok company's that will accept that.
I would get my hazmat and talk to LTL company's. Conway, Fedex and the like.
You may get lucky and find one with an opening on line haul.
UPS works as well. Just remember that many of those company's hire and train drivers from their own dock workers.
If you are willing to hump freight on a dock for 6 months it would pay off very well in the end.

too bad you didn't have more experience, Foodliner is hiring tanker drivers in Savannah but they require two years.

talked to my terminal manager today he said if you got 6mo driving exp and went to an accredeted truck driving school that equalls another 6mo so theres one year exp there. and we hire with 1yr exp. as long as you pass the background check.now you will have to get a twic card which allows you to get into the port with out it you can not haul out of there it costs $132.50. this is done by homeland security and takes 2-8 weeks to get after you apply. you will also have to get a georgia port id card its free and takes about 10min to get. also be prepared to move to the savannah area as all freight runs out of our termibal on grange rd.i had to move here from lawrenceville ga. the reason is the trucks stay on the lot when not under dispaatch it costs to much in fuel to dead head you home out of the area. if yall are intrested call sam pena at road link in sav 912-963-9611 he will give you all the details and tell him that william referred you. if you already own your own truck they are paying a dollar a mile loaded .80cpm empty. if you want to be a co. driver you will be paired with a owner and their pay varies depending on exp.
