Could someone tell me about cheeseman trucking. Do they they hire students. How much is the pay do you need hazmat or tanker. What kind of trucks they have manual or auto. If you get training how long is it. Thanks

I can tell you a little as I'm not working there but considering them.

I know they hire students because they have asked me if I'd be interested to train again. They have all Prostars from what I seen in Duncan and they are all automatic. Also I know they pay a premium for hauling Hazmat but I'm not sure if it's required or not, I already have my endorsement so it was never discussed.

sometimes once a week, sometimes every day. the lifts are always blocked when you leave a terminal but you will be picking up forklifts as well as delivering them. you can stock up on blocks and nails at terminals, carry a good hammer and long heavy crowbar. some of the Crown dealers have nail guns which makes life easier. blocks are really no big deal if you have a good work ethic and it pays about $60 an hour.

So it takes about 30 minutes for a full trailer worth of unloading? I know it's .75 per 1k lbs, so $30 for unloading 40k lbs. worth of forklifts. Thanks Carter

Cheeseman drivers must be awful busy, guess they don't have time to keep this thread alive.

    exactly the case, working hard.

you can unblock a full load of lifts in half an hour. hand jacks used to be a pain but they started blocking them different. sometimes you are limited by the skill and speed of the guys unloading them. dealers are usually fast. after a while you will develop a system. the guy at the Crown dealer in Oakland NJ can unload anything in about 10 minutes. best thing I can advise is to apply and give it a try yourself.

    RoadCall Thanks this.

I submitted my application this morning. Within 30 minutes of receiving it Bob called me to let me know I was hired. I haven't set up a date for orientation yet because I will be putting in a notice where I currently work. But most likely I will be coming out to the fort in 2 weeks for orientation. I'm pretty excited to start driving for cheeseman! As an outsider looking in it seems like one of the best companies out there these days. I'll do my best to keep everyone informed on my start date and how things go for me at cheeseman.
