Its hard work i can vouch for that I worked there for 2 runs(days) that was enough for me. but if you dont have anymore options i say why not a little hard work wont kill you.
animal Thanks this. -
I don't mind the work. They have trouble keeping drivers and I was wondering why. The pay is good at $45,000.00 to $50,000.00 with benefits starting out. I would never quit a job making those $$$$
My other problem is the loooong drive I would have. Would they let me drive the truck home? -
personally i think the way they load stinks they put everything in bulk on pallets. You have to dig every thing out and touch the product way more than you should have to. Say you get to stop 1 and you need something out of the freezer or cooler you have to climb over other product thats in the door just to get to the other. Then you might have to break the pallet down while surrounded by full pallets. Like I said this is my opinion. Wayyy to much work for the money,Only work there if you cant find something better. As far as taking the truck home i dont think so because you probably wont see home to much anyways during the week.Like i said I didnt stay long i guess 2 days the reason i say i guess 2 days because i started at 8:00pm and didnt finish until the next day about the same time.To top it off there were three of us on the truck. But hey with everybody else quitting you can move up quickly.Job security too.

Thanx lump. I knew something was bad for them to lose so many drivers lol. That is stupid. You would think they would load the first drop last and go from there.
I've been out of trucking for a little while and i'm thinking about go back if some things dont change. Also waiting for a ticket to drop off. -
its not all bad i mean you got to do what you got to do. heck if your lucky and there hard up for a good driver they might give you an opportunity, ticket and all.give it a try you might get better results than i did.good luck

My wife and I are moving from TN to Mobile, Al and being an OTR driver it will be difficult to get a really good paying local gig in the area that doesn't require any endorsements. So a job like this would be fairly easy to get into, just switch cdl to AL and I'm g2g. But I wanna know how they're pay is broken down. Is it hourly, by the mile, or a day rate? Also is there a terminal in Mobile County, or would I need to drive to B'ham every day to get the truck?
