Well, folks, first of all, it's a food-service job, and that's not for everybody. Most of us doing so enjoy the work. So if you're a long haul driver, or like doing pin to pin stuff, it's not gonna be your gig.

QCD is a daughter company of Golden State Foods. And let me tell you, after 31 years in this business, 11 of them in foodservice, they have to be one of the best companies as far as treating their people as their most valuable resource.

Our operation in Apopka had over 200+ applicants for 20 spots. Most of it was word of mouth, and they run very little advertising, do no recruiting or have no sign on bonus. When someone has to offer you cash to stick around, well....do the math.

They are in their 3rd busiest year of growth, and it's all over the country. They're starting to service the Chick Fil-A chain, as well as Starbucks. People are approaching them left and right to do work for them. If any of you are familiar with the values that built Chick Fil-A, QCD is right on the same page.

The benefits and pay are exceptional. The equipment is top notch. They listen to our ideas if we have one, and if it's good, they use it. But the best part is they listen. Who does that these days?

I've driven for 31 years. I've been a rebel hippie outlaw back in the day, worked for a small company, and a few rather big ones, and I'll have to admit, it's the best gig I ever had.

Most of their operations are radius based. A few sleepers, and a few overnights here and there, but you're out and back as a rule. They'll have no problems finding drivers, I'm sure within short time, we'll have a waiting list, here in Florida. I'm posting this so a few of you have a heads up.

If you're a true professional, great record, great work ethic and at least a couple of years experience, it'll be the best gig you ever had.

If you see them looking in your area, I'd hop all over it. Good luck.

I've been looking for info on quality custom dist. for a couple of days now. This is all I found. They recently held a job fair in Downey Ca. I went and everything went good, had 2 interviews and they said they will call me next week for a road test. My question is do you know anything else about this company or what they might be planning in Ca. Also do they work alot of overtime. How are the benefits. thanks

They're very selective and a great company to work for. Be patient - I would suggest a follow up call if they don't contact you. It takes a while for your background to come through - HR has a lot on the plate on they are very thorough.

The people who run Quality are veteran GSF folks. Read up on them if you want to know the ethic of the company.

I don't know what they are planning in Ca. Whatever it is, it'll be a good operation. I would say that within 5 years, we will be doing a good portion of Chick Fil-A, it's going very well so far.

Benefits are stellar. Our pay is component based, but there is hourly pay as well for support positions - I'm currently doing hostler duties and just shuttling equipment to tend to our new Carrier units that are needing some tweaking (we use the PAR system to monitor temperature) and some warranty work on the Petes.

You may work overtime, but you will always run legal. The money is fair, and I came from a 68K gig - but I was getting run to death, and not running legal.

Dude I guess u have just started with QCD. You should really be careful with what u tell people. Though this could be a good company to work for so far it has been the worst to work for. The have no regard for the employee or their family. It is the only company that will write you up; suspend you, or fire you on your day off. They have the worst management ever. Apopka is an ok facility only because it just opened give it time you'll have the same thoughts as all the other facilities.

If you like being treated like a third world company employee go work for QCD out of the City of Industry Ca. They took over Havi Logistics in August and before that they were named HFS. Three diffrent names in less than 1 year, probably due to all the injuries and lawsuits. they give you a small radio and dispatch uses it to call you and harass you to quote step it up as they call it (hurry up!) They dont want you to take your lunch break and they like to write you up for anything and everything. They like to claim you are given enough time to do route but then turn around and add extra pallets to breakdown and deliver along with milk and pastrys, breakfasttrays so much so that you cant get through the truck walkway out the back end. They will be looking for Class A drivers stay away, just let go of their Class B drivers. Beware!:biggrin_25510:

I was working out of City of industry for a little bit. It does seem kind of third world. One thing I did notice is that they are trying to move forward but they have a long way to go. They fired a lot of drivers but it seems they should have started with people in the office especially the girl in charge of HR. Left them after a short while for greener pastures.

I totally agree Qcd(city of industry ca) has the worst management ever, they have former drivers masquerading as supervisors who will eventually run Qcd city of industry down. They have been working drivers like donkeys and the worst thing they treat drivers like dummies(stupid). They have little regard for drivers who work their ##### off. Thought they would improve but seemed to get worse everyday. It's not all that they say it is.
