It's been awhile since last post, Decided at last minute not to go with CFI, nothing wrong with company so In Turn I went with NDI this Company by far has Great Home time 10 to12 days out 2-3 days home, In Training which I am in Now Every 2-3 weeks Out I get 2-3 days off while in training, which alot of Companies do not offer that. It is 8 weeks Of Training 1-2 weeks in classroom and if you do well in one week, your out over the Road, Like I am now, Only draw back is your Pay as a trainee you get $350 wk and you get deducted $35.50 a week for 3 weeks to pay for your DOT....The Truckers are Friegtliners and Internationals 2004-05-06 Real nice trucks...
Just wanted to say if you Trainees out there are looking for some home time in training like I was , this company will find you a trainer from ur area if you qualify....
Its a Small Company but when finished with training, I will be making .32 cpm and over 2800-3200 plus depending on roads in winter, and thats a Promise!!....In Writing
This Small Company has a fleet of no more then 350 Tractors and they do not plan to go any higher then 500 tractors....They rather know you by name, then just a number...

    Check out more if Intersted:smt023

I'm glad you are starting out great, sounds like a deal, its reall all about the people you work for that you interact with and getting the most miles of driving and not manual labor. some guys are into less miles for more money but from what I have learned over the years they are really working more and not driving. best of luck to you.

Sorry Not a Positive Note: While in training my 18 month old son got very sick and was rushed to hospital, and they did give me time off only a week and half into company, They told me Family First!....I sent them all updates and progress and hospital notes, but I was Terminated because I was taking too long to resolve my issue and my son was still in hospital which was only 4 days and all Doctors Notes were Fax over to National, but That didn't seem to matter, Also Family first is a Crock with this Company!!!...Now wishing I had gone with my first choice, but now too late...Becareful with this Company and Family First Is Not There Slogan!!

Sorry to hear that your son got sick. Hope he doing better. It never to late, so do not give up hope. Go back to your first choice, and see what happens. Never say never, there are many routes you can still take. I wish you all the luck and hope your son is better.

NDl was good to us we started there in feb 2005, as they were one of the few companys that would train me and my wife toghter ( yes 3 in a truck is a little tight) after we got done with training, we were giving are own truck. then miles were great for a team 6k to 9k a week. home time was ok 2 weeks out 3 days home. we left them in feb 2006. the only reason we left is they would not sell/lease us a truck. even tried out right out buying on but bad credit. they are a good company for some just starting out.

Good luck finding a company that won't terminate you for excess time off. Unless you take a planned vacation, most companies will have this practice. You are new, and you will realize this soon. It can't always go your way.

Remember there is 2 sides to a story. I find it hard to beleive that NDI would treat you the way you say. I have talked to alot of drivers from NDI and hear nothing but how they are very good about working you home in a emergency. I start oreintation Monday so I will try my best to keep everybody up to date on my experience with NDI. :biggrin_255:
