You should try Keen transportation. They require previous heavy haul and flatbed experience. Runningman0661 drove for them hopefully he will see this and give you some insight on them

Define "real" Heavy Haul.

If you mean the folks that haul 300,000# or better. Well, those firms are few. We do a lot of oversize work. Mainly all equipment for mining and construction we take is OS.

I worked for Keen. Shawn Keen was my dispatcher. Great outfit to work for.

I'm not trying to get everyone to go and look at the few pics I've posted so far, but, my definition is kinda like those pictures. I wasn't looking for a company to Heavy Haul for, as I've heard of all of those outfits listed in the previous posts. Keen Transport, ATS, and Dailey are among those generic, what we like to call General freight style heavy haul companies. I know a few owner-operators at Lone Star and I know a few company Heavy Haul drivers there also. I know a bunch of the guy's at Diamond, J. Supor and Son's, and Trans American too!! I know a bunch of guy's at Guy M. Turner, also. I know a guy at Burkhalter and two over at Beyel Bros. I know almost all of the guys at Southwest Industrial, out of Phoenix, and too many to list out of the west coast. I was wondering if there was anyone that frequented this site that was a Heavy Hauler......Thanks.

We do quite a bit of cat machinery and dabble in JD some too but for the most part its wind energy. Ive been under a schnabble rig for a while now and its pretty challenging. Easier than when its started and they didnt have this equipment though. Look at Lonestar, ATS (anderson), Heavy transport, STS out of san antonio, tx or maybe bennett or Keen. Almost forgot, if you dont mind running canada all year long and particularly the western region you could try westfreight. They do alot of flatbed ltl and curtainsides but they have some heavy haul trucks. I ran into some up in montana that were scalin bout 190,000 if thats heavy enough.

I'm hooked to a Nelson 19 axle tonight. With 40' of deck I'm 200,000lbs m/t, and 200' long. Is that heavy enough?? I'm hoping to load tomorrow, a little 210,000lb. stator. Going from Charleston, SC. to St. Paul, MN. I guess I'll get it delivered sometime this year. I hear the weather is bad up there, right now..... Thanks.
