.....just don't catch it when you're in Guelph, ON (Toronto OC in CANADA) because it takes forever to get ur truck/trailer fixed. Express you wait like 1 - 3 hours. I know this because it's my home OC.

All the OC's are one of the main reasons I still drive for Schneider. There are many other reasons why I am still here but that is the main one.

They pay for the whole shot usually. I have never had a problem when I have broken down my hotels have always been 100% taken care of. I believe after a 24 hour break down its $90 - $110 /day

Decided on schneider academy!!
Hi everyone!!
I will be relocating to the lower 48, and decided to go to schneider, after lots of research. problem is I have my cdl b in alaska, and will relocate to states that are busy for schneider, any suggestions!!

Schneider is a good choice. I believe that you'll have to go Schneider training even if you do have a class b. As for busiest location you may want to think that through. You could end up in New York or a s#$% hole like L.A., Mexifornia.

SNI has a training center in Wisconson.

Just call SNI and pick there brain. One other thing, recently SNI has been asking there new students to agree to drive teams. Personally I hate team driving, the truck never stops. Anyway since you can move anywhere try to find a location that you'll be pleased with and you don't have to drive team. Just my suggestion.

Hey thanks for the info, spoke with them the other day, but they told me I need to get my license in ill, or whever I pick first then call. I read that Ill was really hard to get, even with my cdl b. Any other ?

I was trying to figure this out for a minute as it didn't make sense. But you have a CDL B, so that won't work for a regular class A CDL. They want you to find a state you will move to and then get your regular drivers license (maybe see if they can get the CDL B to transfer...otherwise start from scratch and get the permit). Technically you COULD keep your Alaska CDL, however when you finish training...guess where you need to take the test? Unless by some miracle of God they have a third party person at Schneider who is qualified (licenesed?) to do AK CDL tests.

The tricky thing is that you need to decide where to live because they have hiring areas based on regions and towns. You have better chances in the more populated states, but that doesn't mean you should live in those states either. I wouldnt move for a job unless I had that job.

Does any body know how snider works there hometime and can u idle the trucks and are u allowed to take trucks home when u do get off

I imagine they are like most other companies if you go OTR with them. They will probably try to get you home every 3-4 weeks, but thats not guaranteed. You can idle the trucks for a certain percentage of total time the truck is on, depending on what time of year. Also, you probably have to drop the truck off at a local OC when going home. They might allow other stuff, but Im not sure.

Old hood?
I don't know what trucks they are ordering, IF any at all. I imagine it would be cascadias, but I wouldn't be surprised if they got Centurys. Also, someone told me they thought Schneider was buying white trucks compared to orange for a better resale value. not sure if thats true or not.

is the pumpkin trucks a good company to go with and they dont really let u take your trucks home and are the trucks as raggedy as every body says and whats beter bulk or dry vsn
