So I can apply and go to the accadamey even if I don't have a permit, I have a liscense just regular one im 22. Also how would the transferring of Texas liscense to Illinois work? And I really wouldn't care about home time heck if I'm out for 2 or 3 months it's fine with me no kids or nothing is that possible would that get me a better chance of getting maximum miles and running a lot of coast to coast? Once done with the academy how long do I have to stay out with a trainer? Finally what are newbies getting out of school centuries I love those or what else and are all trucks manual I hope so!

wowo frieght... let me answer a few for ya. you don't need a permit before hand as you will go to the dmv in fortworth and get it and your license. don't know how the transfering of a cdl works in illinois but your recruiter will know. staying out for 2-3 months at a time sounds good money wise but trucst me you need to get out the truck from time to time. but it will helpo that you have no ties family wise because that is one of the hardest thing about being a truck driver and not being able to see kids and such. you stay out for 6 weeks with a trainer once done at the acadamy. and what truck you get is a crapshot. yes we do have centuries still but they are a dieing bread around here. mostly they have cascadias with a few(and i mean only a few) volvos and international prostars. there are alot more prostars then volvos though. don't know how many prostars but tehre are only 50 volvos in the fleet curently(i have one of them and they rock). hope that is helpfull and if you got anything else don't hesitate to ask man.

Kinda, The truck is home now. I could get home every 3-4 weeksbut I prefer to stay out much longer. If you need hometime go LTL out of miami or dundee.

can i just contact FFE and jump on a truck with another driver ?
or they prefer that ppl will do the whole process in their company ?

You will have to go through the Academy for a refresher. Then go out with trainer a minimum of 6 weeks.
