Being negative is a matter of perspective. In any event. No matter who you work for never quit under a load. If your going to leave a carrier do it the right way.

The opinions I give are solid and based off available and verifiable evidence. I don't mind debating the wrong or right about fleece purchases. Its about the drivers not getting she short end of the stick. There is nothing wrong about me telling a driver to consult with a trucking attorney regarding a contract. I have had companies want me (and others) to fill out an application to actually get a copy of their fleece purchase contract.

Aside from the interest rate on the truck the other requirements of the contract should be pretty standard. Why wont the carriers allow drivers to see this before they opt to apply with them? Mmmmmmm.

Here is the best part!! As a part of the application process (the background investigation) the carriers will run a credit check. Having to many credit inquiry's on your credit is not good.

The only possible lease purchase that appears to be workable is from Hills Brothers. They have good information regarding their lease purchase, escrows and how the monies/interest are given back to the driver etc etc. I still would take the contract to an attorney.

Perhaps contracts can be amended/crafted for certain drivers. Who knows.

All I am saying is don't go into this venture looking through rosy glasses and fantasies of rolling in $$$$. Go into it with a shrewd, educated and informed state of mind. There are carriers out there that have nothing more than predatory contracts.

    Have drivers been sued....yes.
Have credit been destroyed over fleece purchase....yes.
Is everything I said in my previous posts true....yes.

Seek out the assistance from the OODIA and a qualified attorney BEFORE DOING ANYTHING WITH A FLEECE PURCHASE!!

It's a lease purchase. . ACT does not run a credit check. . ACT will send a copy of the contract if requested. Hill Bros does appear to have a fair lease purchase plan also. . Guess it's down to dry van vs reefer.. decisions decisions

Not to mention innuendo, hearsay and outright bull crap. You're way too full of yourself.

Depends on the carrier. Mine will be happy to send a copy out... and if you can't get one that should be a warning that you need to look elsewhere.

Again, depends on the carrier. The release form you sign under the Fair Credit Act is required to gain access to your DAC report... it's all part of the same law that mandates credit checks.

It really doesn't matter what's on the contract since treatment of escrow accounts is mandated by federal law.

Which fantasy planet did you come from?

That can be said for any contract.

You sure have an amazing view of what's true and what isn't. Get over yourself.

I hate to burst your bubble, that can be said of any contract including a contract leasing your own personally-owned tractor onto a carrier. Just because you own it doesn't necessarily remove the risk involved in any deal in trucking. The lease is only the beginning of the process of determining whether a given business partnering is going to benefit you... much more importantly do the numbers make sense, will the revenue actually support the business, and is the promised freight actually out there. You can argue lease clauses all day long, and that won't be worth spit if the money isn't there.

Then... you need to prepare yourself, because this isn't employment on steroids. You either run a lease truck (or for that matter an owner-operator truck) as a business, or you're a lot closer to crashing and burning. Do you have the capitalization to make it through that all-important first year? Probably not. Will you put in the extra work it takes to make one of these ventures successful? Heck most of the time guys get into this with the idea that they can just take off whenever they like, and the business will take care of itself. There's a lot more to this than just trotting some paper over to an attorney.

Oh, I would never leave under a ld. I did manage to get two lds for this week alreadyx short one from lebanon to wichita , then mcpherson ,ks to ohio. The hourly job is with knight out of phoenix some kind of dedicated fleet in okc. I ve been discussing wi th my family so we r just slowly making a decision as a whole. I ve been doing really well here. I tried a lease with JCT . ENGLAND , also and this has been the best one . If I can just slow it down a bit I know I would do better. I was looking at buying an older 2007 and letting my brother drive it here at ACT. He will be joing us shortly. One kore thing. When does th e rest of th e signing bonus get paid . Is it three months of employment. I lost my book. Hate to call in and waste anyone's time answering a dumb question . I 'll just ask it here, lol. Thanks y'all. Truck 4408 .

I believe the sign on bonus is paid in 3 separate payments. .1st of dispatch. .then again on the 3rd month and last in 6 months.

Dang thing keeps changing. . Was told there is now a $2, 000 sign on bonus for company drivers. .I guess the lease program is so popular they had to increase the sign on to help even out the fleet.

Still should be every 90 days like jaguar said. And yes, the 8000 series lease is pretty popular so they're low on company drivers.
