I've got some questions for you prime lease drivers. I am a current driver with another company whom I look to be parting ways with in Septemberish. My contract is over I'm hanging on so I can use my acquired vacation time for a wedding. I have been driving for just over a year now, I have no accidents, or violations. I am in the process of scouting other companies and Prime has remained towards the top of the list. Some of if not all my questions may have been answered. I've gone through the last dozen pages or so and most questions seem to be from new drivers just getting their CDL. Whatever answers you can give would be appreciated.
1)If I sign on with the success lease and Prime am I under contract? If so for how long?
2)Ballpark, what can I realistically look to bring home after fuel, payments and other deductions. On an average week. Obviously its going to fluctuate. I work hard and don't mess around, and am able to keep good fuel mileage. (pending on terrain, and load)
3)Again, ballpark, avg miles per week?
4)How do they treat you? Do they recognize you're human and not a robot? (that one may be too much to ask for, but I'm an optimist) Do they try to squeeze every minuet out of your day or do they realize that after 12-13 hours after you started your clock you can't be sent to go get loaded. (occasionaly, if I know I can sleep at the shipper its not a big deal, but happens way too often now in my current situation)
5)How are their directions? Do they use optimized routing, or is routing up to the driver? (not really an issue, just curious)
6)What would my hiring process be? would I have to go with a trainer again to learn Primes way? Or be company driver for 'x' amount of time before I can lease?
7)Whoever is answering these, are you a recruiter? I'd like to hear from drivers, not recruiters.
8 Whats avg load distance? 50-250 250-600 600+? (Im currently averaging between 3 and 5 hundred. getting lots of runs, but no miles by the end of the week)
9)And this is just my own curiosity again, but do you run the gambit on weights, or are you almost always heavy, 38k+?

I know I had other questions but they seem to be slipping my mind right now. But I believe those are the most important ones to me at this point. Thanks in advance for any information.

Scorcher, may I suggest you send IP a PM with those questions? Mont74 is also a lease driver (I think), but he's flatbed. (I think) DTB is epic fail in the brain department today. I think it's due to 99 degree heat and a pickup that doesn't have air conditioning.

LOL. See the above statement concerning heat and lack of air conditioning. On the bright side, Mom's truck now runs and has new footies. (Tell me again how it was MY car that was the priority?... Also, nothing against JCW on this one, we're just diffusing the smoke emanating from between Mom's ears. Took me long enough to get her to get what it needed to make it run. I wanted it running ASAP. It's been yard art for the past 6 months for want of a battery and 4 new tires.)

She would rather spend $3500 on a new-to-her used truck w/ unknown problems than to spend the $800 on tires and a battery. Maintenance is NOT nickel and diming. Oh, and Old Blue broke her timing belt. Not an expensive part as parts go, but a royal PITA to change. Thank dog for having a non-interference engine.

Guys I'm getting impatient! I've had my license now for two weeks and I'm still waiting for a trainer to become available.
How long does this normally take? How many different trainers does Prime have for drivers that have recent grads?
