Got a message over the QC stating Super Service has decided to end its temperature controlled division and flower transporting. Which means they are axing LCT basically. Rumor has now been confirmed.

I noticed recently that the freightliners no longer said LCT on the doors.

Will the drivers be absorbed into Super Service,or let go?

I thought that flowers would at least be somewhat profitable.

LoL, they rebranded every rig SuperService, the trailers still say LCT/GST so on but they basically axed the companies LCT and GTS a while ago trying to get rid of name associations.

But now they have completely axed the refrigerated division. Which means there will soon be no LCT trailers either and all traces of LCT will soon disappear. The terminal in FL they are currently planning to keep, and they do not plan to fire the drivers, just going to move them into van.

At one time, not long ago, LCT was the most profitable division of Gainey.

And a LONG time ago, before gainey got control of LCT, it was a pretty decent company.

Now days, NOBODY will miss them...........................

Had an ad earlier this week for super service in Tampa Craigslist, hiring for the LCT location!! Guess they still need help!!!
Irocubabe, I thought I read you were buying a truck a little bit ago?? Did you lease it to S.S. or am I mistaken in my memory? (highly posible) If you are co. for them how are they nowadays?

I know a guy who works for them who received a 3K in severance pay as all he did was haul flowers. SS has a 20yr or so lease on the Miami terminal so they are going to keep it. What they are going to do is TBD. SS will no longer go further than El Paso when going out west. They have a lot of freightliner columbias despite receiving internationals, volvos and freightliners. I was told only 25 could come in at once.

No I do not work for them. I do know a driver with them. He provided me with this information. Whats funny is LCT made a crap load of money doing flowers. I guess SS wants has the customer base for dry van freight.
