I don't have $3500 (or even $500) to start training, and want to avoid the $cam that is Driver Solutions (Just dodged THAT bullet after doing a little internet research!).

Anyway, I live in Indianapolis, IN, which happens to be a Schneider "hub", and I know they have a good rep; in fact, one of the best, especially of the companies that offer some sort of "training". So, with that in mind, I have been trying to find out (so far, unsuccessfully!) as to whether they ask the student to pay for training out-of-pocket (or hope they can get Grant money or some other Assistance), and then do the "reimbursement" bit; or do they offer ANY kind of "they pay" program?

I don't mind being an indentured servant for a year or so (afterall, it is only fair if they are paying for training); but I really can't afford much out-of-pocket up front at ALL. I actually graduated from Cummins in 1988, but didn't keep up my CDL.

Is there anyone who can give me some info from their own experiences with the "tuition" part of Schneider training, and if they don't have "company paid" training, what are the best options for getting help doing so?

    Thanks!

I went to truck driving school in Indy 15 years ago. No money up front, just paid $50 a week after I went to work for Burlington, which is long out of business, thankfully.

Here's a link to the school:
