Fully understood AT. I don't work weekends so 50 K suits me just fine. It's been, for the last two years, a 14k and 16k raise from what I earned at Knight. I still managed to live off the chump change I made with the big red ######.

You seem like my kind of person--a peaceful hippy, artist, musician who loves animals and therefore I feel I can trust your perspective. Plus, you obviously are very tolerant and practical.

Here is my story (brief): single for many years now: I have three adult daughters who live in: Ohio, Illinois, and Florida. I just finished an associate's degree and am tired of college. I need to pay down my student loan debt. And!! I want to go out west and east and south. I live in Ohio and I hate it, especially the city where I live--voted most depressed city in the US a couple of months ago, according to a scholarly study.

Getting back into trucking allows me to visit my daughters during home time on the company dime, live rent-free on the road, make lots of money with no bills to pay, except student loans and phone--plus I get to travel, write, and listen to NPR all the time.

I already know what it is like to be a trucker, at least what it was like back in the early 2000's. So, I have no delusions.

I finish my refresher April 6, 2012 and then I head off to ???? company to work. I am not finding very many companies that will hire people with no experience in the past 5 years. So, my choices are limited.

You sound pretty fed up with Knight.... Hmmmmm. Any suggestions? I cannot go back to Barr-Nunn for lack of current experience. What do you hear about Stevens?
